Romney quits race for the WhiteHouse...

Dejected looking Romney after quitting the race...

What a disappointing news for me in particular. It was the first news I heard today and it was a disappointing one.Republican candidate for the WhiteHouse Mitt Romney has decided that it was time for him to leave the race to become the next president which is sad, because he was another guy I was rooting to win besides Obama, though Im supporting Obama more.

As Ive said in my previous post,Mitt Romney was considering whether he should stay in the race after his disappointing Super Tuesday performance, which of course he did.But he had a change of mind yesterday and he thought that there is no point for him to continue his bid.I think he was the only guy that spends the most in his campaign out of all the other Republican candidates, but as Obama have said before,it doesnt seem that his investment is reaping dividends and how right he is.Speaking of his decisiont to quit,Romney said that it wasnt 'an easy decision' and that he 'hate to lose'.He was talking on Thursday afternoon at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington. With Romney out,Sen. John McCain is locked in as the front-runner in the GOP race.Romney had won 286 delegates through the Super Tuesday contests, compared with McCain's 697.

So who is left on the Republican side of the race.It is down to McCain,Huckabee and Ron Paul.Well if Im being honest, lets just consider only McCain and Huckabee.Huckabee had a stronger showing on Super Tuesday than Romney and it wouldnt surprise me if he will get more votes now that Romney is out.Romney and McCain had been against each other during the race, and now that he is out,I think the Romney supporters will support Huckabee because he is viewed as being more conservative like Romney, than McCain does.Romney has not said anything about endorsing anyone, and I dont think he will,if he does, then I would think he would be endorsing Huckabee. But nevertheless,I still think McCain is too far ahead and he will win the Republican side of the race for sure.

I dont want to see McCain winning, but I think he will.Romney dropping out might and might not be a good thing. It might because Huckabee could be receiving more support. It might not because the Romney supporters might go for McCain I dont know but hopefully it is the former.I like Romney and I hope he will enter the race again the next time.Turning to the Democratic side, there is nothing new to report on.As for now,the race shall continue and I hope that Obama and Huckabee could do some magic.Till next time people!
