Today was another day where we saw the elections going on in certain parts of United States and both Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee won big time.Obama made a clean sweep of all the states on offer,Louisiana,Nebraska and Washington on Saturday,as well as in the Virgin Islands. Huckabee meanwhile was victorious in Kansas and Louisiana, upsetting 'frontrunner' John McCain, and I would like to point out that the victory in Kansas was a very convincing one as well.He defeated McCain by nearly a 3-1 margin.
Despite those win however,I would like to point out that most of the states are caucuses, where Obama and Huckabee are expected to do well.If I am not mistaken,Lousiana was the only Primaries, but again, still impressive win from both of them, which makes me really happy,in particular because I am a Obama fan and I dont want to see McCain winning on the Republican side. Not because I think Obama wont be able to take him on should both of them win,but I think McCain is not fit enough to be the next president. So where does it leaves us after today's result.Well, according to the latest calculation by my favourite and number one news channel,CNN,Clinton has 1,100 delegates and Obama has 1,039.Its still close between the two of them and Clinton is still leading, but Obama is getting closer and closer each day.Come on Barack! As for the Republican, the same could not be said however.Despite the good showing today by Huckabee,he is still far back.McCain has a significant lead in the delegate count after Super Tuesday.Huckabee has 217 delegates to McCain's 714.Even if Huckabee wins every remaining state with 50 percent of the vote to McCain's 40 percent,McCain would still be the nominee. But Huckabee will not give up easily and he said he doesnt believe in the maths,he believe in miracles, and I agree with him.
Up next is the Maine Democratic caucuses where Obama is expected to win again, well I hope the predictions are right.Obama will have to win every state now if he wants to get even closer to Hillary, but of course saying that is easier than making it a possibility. As for Huckabee,I hope he can continue to stay and battle on as well because he is now my only hope of preventing McCain from becoming the Republican nominee. But for now,we shall all wait and see as America continue to find their next president which I believe in Barack Obama.YES WE CAN!
