Gerrard named as Captain against Switzerland...

Ok,Im going to stay off fromt he politics for a while and focus on football for a moment.First Capello dropped Beckham from the England squad and now he select Gerrard as his captain,well only for the Switzerland match which is tomorrow.He has not made a permanent skipper yet however.

Speaking about the decision to name Gerrard captain,Capello said that Gerrard is 'an important player' and adds that he will not name a permanent captain before the Andorra match which is schedule to take place on 6 September,so that is still a long way to go but I think it will give him time to think about who is best to be the captain for the team.The decision to pick Gerrard as the captain for his first match doesnt surprise me.I mean Gerrard is a great player and he is the skipper for Liverpool as we all know,so I think Capello has made the right choice,but I was expecting my man Michael Owen to be the captain to be honest.

I think from now till the Andorra match,Capello will rotate his captain to give him a good opportunity to see who should he pick as the permanent skipper,and I hope Owen will get his chance as well.I mean he is now the captain for my team,Newcastle,it would be great if he could be the captain for England as well.I am not actually a fan of England for your opinion.The only reason I am supporting England right now is because Owen is now playing for my team.Other than that,theres no other reason.I am actually a fan of Italy,was really happy when they won the World Cup in 2006 and qualify for Euro 2008,so I didnt feel too sorry for England when they didnt qualify for Euro 2008.

Capello has name his squad for the Switzerland team which includes Owen,and I hope he is in the starting eleven,if not one of the subtitute,and I would love to see him scoring a goal or two tomorrow.Im going to wake up at 3.30 in the morning tomorrow to watch the match and lets all hope for an England win with Owen scoring.On another note,Super Tuesday is not over yet,it is still happening,so Im going to wait till everything has ended before posting my views.Till then,take care folks.Oh before i forgot,if you want to know which candidate/s I am rooting for,you got to wait for my next post.
