Its the season of love...

Time to take a break of all the political stuff that has been happening around lately, and talk about something that is much calmer and much romantic.Today is the 14th of February, and as you know it is the day we know as the Valentine's Day,where we shower our loved ones with presents lie candy, flowers, and gifts, and if youre lucky, your couple, usually the guy, will treat you to a romantic dinner at a beautiful restaurant.

Anyway,I believe that people know that 14 February is the Valentine's Day but I dont think many would know the history behind it and why is it call Valentine's Day.We are celebrating it in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday? The history of Valentine's Day and its patron saint is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance.St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. So,who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. There are many different stories of how Valentine may have been killed,I dont know which is true,so I wont tell you.But you might want to know that according to one legend,Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison,it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl, who may have been his jailor's daughter, who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today.Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages,Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

So there you go,a small history of the Valentine's Day.I think it is important for you to celebrate it,but at the same time, understand the reason behind the celebration, just like any of your other festive celebrations. If you are celebrating today, remember to have fun and most importantly,be romantic.Actually I think you should show the same love for your partner each and everyday, not just during Valentines Day,I leave it to you.If you are still single without anyone to celebrate it,dont be sad, because I think theres no reason to be sad at all.Our time will come sooner or later.Love is a thing that shoud not be rush,so take your time,if you are happy at being single like me for now, even better,we dont need to think about pleasing our couple all the time right? Anyway whatever it is,whether you are celebrating it or not,I just wish that you will have a great day and that you will continue to stay happy with your life, regardless of whether you are in a relationship or not.Happy Valentine's Day everyone! (Though I dont celebrate it even if I have a girlfriend)
