Obama: Clinton should stay in the race 'as long as she wants'

If you have been following the news this past few days or so,you would have probably listen to many Obama's supporters calling for Hillary Clinton to quit the Democratic presidential race.Of course Hillary has said many times before that whatever the outcome is,she is not quitting the race until the Democratic party can find the official nominee for the party.

Well my man,Senator Obama has came out yesterday and said that Hillary should stay in the race 'as long as she wants'.Two of Obama's leading supporters, Sens. Christopher Dodd and Patrick Leahy, said Friday that Clinton should rethink her chances of overcoming that deficit and consider folding her campaign. Many people in the Democratic party feels that if the race goes for too long,it might damage the party's chances of winning the election in November and it cause a split within the party itself if the two candidates continue to bash each other up.Well,Barack Obama disagree with this by calling the fears that the Democratic Party would be damaged by a long campaign "somewhat overstated." But he added that both he and Clinton should avoid campaign attacks "that could be used as ammunition for the Republicans" in November. And he could not be more right. If you see the current state of both candidates, then it would look likely that Obama is going to win the race.Look at where we are right now.Clinton has won primaries in the biggest states so far,but Obama has won more total contests and leads her in the race for delegates to the party's August convention in Denver, where the Democratic nominee will be formally ratified. So the favor is going to Obama rather than Clinton but looking at what has happened since last January, you can never know what to expect next.

I think that calls for Hillary Clinton to quit the race now is not the right thing to do no matter how much I want to see Obama winning the nominee. She might be trailing to Obama right now,but she is not far behind. You have to remember that there are still somemore primaries left to vote and some big states as well such as Pennsylvania. There are still people out there who wish to have their voice heard. The superdelegates could still play a part of course in deciding whos the nominee is going to be.All this talk of damaging the party's chances is rubbish in my opinion because Im sure when the Democratic party can finally announce a nominee, the other candidate which didnt make it will give their full support to the winner despite all the criticisms that has been going on throughout the campaign.I think the American people had more than enough time to know both the candidates already,Barack Obama in particular so even if it takes till August during the convention to find a nominee,it doesnt matter much. For what Hillary Clinton has already achieved over the past 3 months or so is a great thing, therefore to quit the race before the reaching the finishing line would be a total waste of her effort. Its better to go all the way and lose than to go half way and giving it up.Its not like during the Republican race, when McCain was sure to become the nominee, but in the Democratic race, both candidates can still win.So I hope she will not listen to what the critics say and continue to fight on,but at the end of the day,Im still hoping for an Obama win of course.Lastly,Im fantastic.Be champions.
