So today I went out again to the cinema, this time to watch the movie call 'The Forbidden Kingdom'.I have waited for about 2 months for this movie and I finally get to watch it today.Basically, the movie is about an American teenager who is obsessed with martial arts and he made an exciting discovery in a pawnshop in Chinatown.
It appears to be the legendary stick weapon of the Monkey King, the infamous Chinese sage and warrior, one of my favourite warrior as well for your information. He is transported back into time to Ancient China where he meets a band of martial arts warriors and joins them on their journey to save an imprisoned Monkey King which is played by Jet Li.And of course,if you have watch the trailer,Jackie Chan is acting in the movie as well.He is one of the martial art warrior tha help the American teenager to return to stick weapon to the Monkey King. And as you probably expected, any Jet Li or Jackie Chan movies is not enough without any fighting scenes. This movie saw both Jackie and Jet Li acting together for the first time ever and to add to all the excitement, there is even a fighthing scene between the both of them which you have to watch to know how did it go.
For me,I really enjoyed watching the movie.Im a huge fan of Jet Li,not so much for Jackie Chan but I still like them both and when you put two of the greatest martial arts superstar together, you get a great result. The movie was full of kung fu fighting and yet funny which is kind of weird of Jet Li dont often act in a funny movie. You always see him acting in a serious role so it was a good chance to see him taking on a different role.In terms of entertainment,I give this movie a 5/5 stars but in terms of the storyline,I give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars and overall performance of 4/5 stars. This movie does not just appeal to the adults but to the young kids as well.If you are planning to catch a movie with your family, then I highly recommend this movie. If you havnt heard the news yesterday, the movie was the top movie in terms of revenue in the U.S last weekend, beating the likes of 'Street Kings' and 'Nim's Island.'
