Luka Modric coming to the Toon?

It was first emerged yesterday that Croatia star,Luka Modric will be joining Newcastle in the summer and I am really happy if this is true.I can only confirmed that he did travel to Tyneside on Tuesday, accompanied by Dinamo Zagreb vice-chairman Zdravko Mamic to held talks with executive director for football Dennis Wise and vice-president forplayer recruitment) Tony Jimenez at the stadium.

Luka Modric as you probably know already is a big star in the making. He is only 22 and he has produced a lot of great performance on the pitch, whether its for his club or his country. In fact,he is so good that even Barcelona and Chelsea have been linked with him.It is being reported that he could cost as much as £20million,which if it is true, will be a new club record breaking Michael Owen's £17million move in the summer of 2006.

I think this should be a good deal if it is true.I dont mind paying that kind of money for a player with his potential.I know our chairman has a lot of money,so that should not be the problem but I hope they could reduce the price. But I think its too early to say that he will join us because Im sure other big clubs will be alerted by this news and will want to make their move. Here is an interesting fact about him if you want to know.Mark Viduka is actually a second cousin of Modric, yeah I know his Australian and Modric is Croatian, but Viduka's father is actually from Crotia.Im sure that there will more developments coming soon regarding this story and I hope its good.On another note,I would like to congratulate our reserve team for winning the Northumberland Senior Cup yesterday, after defeating Blyth Spartans in the penalty shoot out after the score was 1-1 in extra time.Well done lads!
