Baby with two faces worshipped as goddess...

Yes you heard it right. In India, there is a baby who was born with two faces. You might think that she could probably be suffering from some health problems as a result of that but fortunately, she is doing well and she is even being worshipped as the reincarnation of a Hindu goddess.

The baby,Lali, apparently has an extremely rare condition known as craniofacial duplication, where a single head has two faces.Except for her ears, all of Lali's facial features are duplicated, she has two noses, two pairs of lips and two pairs of eyes. And as expected with a rare case like this, she would definitely attract a lot of attention. In fact, when she left the hospital, eight hours after a normal delivery on March 11,she was swarmed by villagers, according to the director of Saifi Hospital, the place she was born. What is interesting about her is that she drinks milk from her two mouths and open and shuts her four eyes all at the same time.Rural India is deeply superstitious and the little girl is being hailed as a return of the Hindu goddess of valor,Durga,a fiery deity traditionally depicted with three eyes and many arms.It is reported that up to 100 people have been visiting Lali at her home every day to touch her feet out of respect,to offer money and receive blessings.Lali's condition is often linked to serious health complications, but the doctor said she was doing well.

When I first heard about this story, the first thing that came to my mind was the previous story about another baby girl in India, who has almost a similar fate as Lali. No,she do not have two faces, but instead, she was born with four arms and four legs. She however, had to go for an operation to remove the extra limbs, and she is still recovering right now.Similarly with Lali's case, she is also who they still revere by the local village as sacred.I don't know what is it about India that such cases are happening, but I was relieved when I heard that baby Lali is doing fine.If she was born with two faces, then maybe God has some plans for her in the future.I am not that superstitious kind of person, not because I am not a Hindu or what, but I think everything happens because God wants it to.I just hope when she grows up,she will still be leading a normal life just like us with one face because every human being, despite any disability they might have, they deserve the chance to lead a normal life as well.
