Its derby day!

The time has come.It is probably our biggest match of the season. Its derby day today where we will see Newcastle United taking on our closest rival,Sunderland. For me,there is no other derby in the country that matches this one.Sunderland as you all probably know already, have never beaten us in our last eight encounters, the last time we met was late last year, when we drew 1-1 with them at the Stadium of Plight,in which of course Big Sam was still the manager.

Things have change of course at Newcastle with King Kev back in the helm.It is 81 years since our last title and 72 since Sunderland's,yet 52,000 fans will be at St James' Park today and at season's end we will have only Manchester United and Arsenal ahead of us in attendance terms. That clearly shows why we are the number one fan in the world. It should be a good game.Derby games are usually very special,Im sure you will know that if youre a football fan as well.

I think Roy Keane has done a good job with them.I dont like him when he was still a player at Man Utd,but I kind of like him as a manager.Kevin Keegan has said recently that Roy Keane would be the Manchester United manager one day,and I agree with that, but right now hes got to focus on the job at hand.We are on a good form at the moment and I think Sunderland will have to wait for another season if they are going to get another win over us again.Whatever it is,I wouldnt miss the game for anything else in the world. You can watch the match 'live' tonight, kick off is at 8.30pm only on Football Channel.
