Finally,a good news from F1....(Updated 29 April)

It has been a long time since I last enjoyed watching a F1 race but the time has finally come.Renault will finally be among the top car to start in Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.Hometown hero Fernando Alonso will start in the second grid with Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen starting in pole position.

The Ferrari driver clocked a time of one minute,21.813 seconds to snatch pole from under the nose of home favourite Fernando Alonso while Raikkonen team mate,Felipe Massa will start third on the grid at Circuit de Catalunya with BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica continuing his good form by starting in fourth.Hamilton will take the fifth position.Meanwhile the other Renault driver,Nelsinho Piquet will start in tenth place. This is a particularly good news for me because since the season has started,Renault has been producing poor performances time and time again,it is very frustrating for me.I have had high hope before this season started because former world champion Alonso was coming back but unfortunately,it hasnt been a happy return for him or Renault.I dont really know what the main problem is,whether it is the car or the drivers but I suspect it has to do more with the car because Fernando Alonso is a great driver and if you give him a good car, then he will be able to compete with the best.

I am actually more of a Renault fan than an Alonso fan but I still like him as much nevertheless.I was supporting Alonso last season to win the driver's championship and not the constructor championship but as you know things didnt go too well for him there which was why he then decided to move back to Renault.I hope today will signal a turn of fortune for him as well as the car, because I know we have the capability to compete with the best again.I will be happy if he finish in the same position he started later today but of course it would be nice to finish as the winner. You can catch the race live tonight on StarSports, starting for 7.45pm where I hope Alonso could help Renault to return to winning ways again.
*The race is over and Alonso did not finish the race however. There was some problem with his car engine in the middle of the race and he was force to stop while his teammate Piquet did not finish the race as well due to an accident with one of the car from the other team.Despite this,Alonso said he is still happy because he thought that the car is more competitve now and he is looking forward to the next race.
