Obama wins in N.Carolina while Hillary takes Indiana...

Americans in North Carolina and Indiana was out voting today for the Democratic presidential nominee in the latest round of primaries. My man,Barack Obama swept to a convincing victory in the North Carolina primary Tuesday night while his rival,Hillary Clinton managed to eke out a win in Indiana as she struggled to halt her rival's march into history.

Returns from 99 percent of North Carolina precincts showed Obama winning 56 percent of the vote to 42 percent for Clinton. An interesting fact you might want to know is that Obama took an overwhelming 91 percent of the black vote in North Carolina, according to exit polls, while Clinton claimed only 6 percent,so race does play a factor in the election.Meanwhile in Indiana, returns from 99 percent of the precincts showed her with 51 percent to 49 percent for her rival. It took awhile before a winner could be annouced. The outcome wasn't clear for more than six hours after the polls closed, due to the uncertainty stemming from slow counting in Lake County so it was a close call for Hillary Clinton but she did manage to win it nevertheless. There were 115 delegates at stake in North Carolina and 72 in Indiana.Obama won at least 94 delegates and Clinton at least 75 in the two states combined, with 18 still to be awarded. The latest estimated number of delegates for both candidates are Obama with 1840 and Clinton with 1,684.They need 2,025 to win the nomination.

For me,I think today's outcome was very good actually being an Obama fan. Before the people went to the polls,it has been widely anticipated that Obama will win North Carolina and Hillary to win Indiana which is of course the same outcome not surprisingly.I think what is surprising was that the race in Indiana was a very close one,I actually thought at one point of time Obama might cause another upset and win it as well but it didnt happen unfortunately. Both candidate winning 1 state each,I think it still doesnt decide anything.Im just glad that Obama managed to win at least one of them, that was a must.

The balance of the primary schedule includes West Virginia, with 28 delegates on May 13; Oregon with 52 and Kentucky with 51 a week later; Puerto Rico with 55 delegates on June 1,and Montana with 16 and South Dakota with 15 on June 3.It is all going to come to and end soon but there is still a lot of work to be done.Meanwhile,if you would like to know more about both the candidate you may visit their homepage respectively at this address http://www.barackobama.com/ or http://www.hillaryclinton.com/ . I shall see you again in the next primary in a weeks time.
