Edwards endorses Obama!

If you havn't heard the good news yet today,I will tell you now.Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, has endorsed Sen. Barack Obama on Wednesday at a campaign event in Michigan.According to Edwards,Obama is a man "who knows and understands that this is a time for bold leadership".

The announcement punctured Clinton's short-lived boost after her landslide win in Tuesday's West Virginia primary, although the former first lady was still vowing to fight on.Nevertheless,Edwards also praised her candidacy by describing Clinton as a woman "made of steel" who had strengthened the Democratic Party and the eventual presidential nominee by fighting so doggedly for issues dear to her heart.Edwards quit this year's White House nominating race in late January but remains an outspoken voice in the party on the need to confront America's growing rich-poor divide. He could now release his 19 pledged delegates to Obama, and help him reach out to the white,working-class voters who have supported Hillary Clinton in the race so far and will play a key role in November's general election. Both Obama and Clinton has been trying to get Edward's endorsement for months, and he finally gave it to Obama and rightly so I think.

I couldn't be more happier with this news being an Obama fan.I think its a huge boost to Obama's campaign because now,he could start to get the support from the white,working-class voters, the group that had supporter John Edwards when he was still in the race but now has move on to support Clinton instead. In addition,John Edwards does have quite a number of supporters and if he could get them to vote for Obama instead of Clinton,it would be great! I didnt think that Edwards would finally come out and endorse either one,but he did and I think he made the right choice. To be honest with you,I was more of an Edwards fan than Obama at the start of the race, but when he dropped out,I started to support Obama and I think both Obama and Edwards would make a great dream ticket.Barack Obama for the president and John Edwards for the vice president! How about that! I love the idea and I hope it will come true.Edwards himself would not be a stranger in that role after running as the vice president for Sen. John Kerry in 2004 election which the Democrats lost of course.

As for Hillary,Im sure she will be disappointed with this news because she herself is very close to John Edwards and his wife, but in this race, there can only be one winner and that is none other than the next president of the United States,Barack Obama.I will update you on any new development as and when they come but for now, have a nice day.
