Im back again today with another round of interview. It has been a hectic week trying to get in contact with all the people again and preparing the questions for them and many of you have send me your answers,so I thank you once again.Don't worry if you havn't see your interview being posted yet,it will but I will do it one at a time.As for today,I will post an interview I have with someone who doesnt talk much, but she always does her homework. She hails from Johor Bahru and she is none other than Miss Loh Jia Min.Lets see what she has to say...
Hi Jia Min.Thanks for your time. It's been a while. How have you been and what are you up to recently?
I am now schooling at ITE Clementi. There is nothing much that has really been happening apart from going to school everyday and preparing for my exam which is coming soon. Therefore,I must study very hard for it.
I know you live in Bedok and to travel all the way to Clementi must be pretty difficult for you.I also know your father drive a car but I am sure that most of the time, you have to travel on your own.Why didnt you choose a school that is much closer to your home then?
Firstly, since the first day I started my schooling here,my dad had never drive me to school because it's really too far as he needs to work.I chose ITE Clementi because of the course that it offers. The course that I am taking now, which is the Banking Services,is basically a new course this year and only Clementi Campus offer this unique course and a unique uniform too. There will not be any other ITE that will be offering this course in the future, except Collage West. The course is so popular than even now, there's still quite a number of people who are on the waiting list to get into this brand new course.I even heard that one of them scored 15 points for 'O' Level.
I see.I didn't know that the course would be that popular, you must be feeling really fortunate to get a place there Im sure. So,how has ITE life been so far for you? Has it been tough?
It is not really that bad from what I had expected.Although people like to say that ITE usually means "It's the end",it can also means 'It's to enjoy' or any other meaning.Life in ITE is actually FUN and my classmates are nice.
Nice to hear you are enjoying your time there. How about your studies then? Are you coping well? I heard that you was the only student to pass an accounting test recently in your class? Is it true?
Yes.Im the only one who pass the test.Actually it's only a test on Ledger and Im sure anyone from 5A will definately score well if they have taken that test as well. It's nothing to be proud of because basically most or all of my classmates are just starting to learn Accounts and it has only been less than a month but we are already having a test. The subjects are all seperated into 4 semester. So in 1 semester,I only had to study 3 subjects. So it's manageable.
No wonder. Now,let's talk about our BNSS days. What have you been missing so far apart from sitting next to Li Hui? ;)
I just miss the entire 5A class (smiling) because having force to change into a new environment after knowing them and being with them for three years is not an easy thing to do.Nevertheless,my new class include two students which was previously from BNSS.One of them is Shikin and another guy which Im not sure how to spell his name. But I still manage to know three girls from my class and we're getting well together (smiling) .
Has it been tough on you sitting beside Li Hui? I mean she didnt come to school as regularly as you did and you had to collect all the paperwork for her and remind her of any homework or test coming up.
(Laughing) Not really. She always inform me the night before that she's not going to school. So overall it's still OK except that there's no one to talk to me during lesson time if she never come.
I see.Let us talk about your 'O' level result.I know you are disappointed with it.What was the subject that you think you could and should have done better?
Math! I got B4 for it.I was aiming for A2 or B3 but it turns out to be B4.Science was the other subject that let me down because I FAIL MY SCIENCE.If I didnt fail my science,I could have made it to Poly.Anyway,I cannot change something that has been done. Therefore I can only blame myself for not studying well.
Now you did attend the recent class chalet, even though it was for one day.And since it was the first day, there wasn't any BBQ and you didn't get to enjoy the chalet fully. But did you really enjoy yourself on your short time there and are you hoping that someday in the future, such event could be organise again?
Although I didnt get to enjoy the BBQ,I still enjoy it.If there's another 5A chalet,I will definately go again.
That's great to hear.So what are your plans after ITE or what do you hope to achieve after ITE?
I will have an attachment to work in a Bank next year. Therefore, after I have finish my ITE,if I could continue working in that Bank,I will. And after 2/3 years,I might consider go overseas to continue the study on Banking Services. This is actually what my current teacher did. He was also from ITE before.
Lastly,do you have anything to say to our former classmates who might be reading this now?
No matter what you guys are doing now, just try your very best and hope the we could stay in contact.Study hard but also play well at the same time (smiling).
Well said Jia Min.I hope you will have good future ahead and achieve your dream of becoming an accountant.Keep working hard and Im sure you will be able to do it.For more interviews, please come back this Saturday! Till then, take care!
