Clinton finally suspends her campaign...

Hillary Clinton has suspended her pioneering campaign for the presidency on Saturday and endorsing Obama at the same time. She then summoned her supporters to use "our energy, our passion, our strength" to put Barack Obama in the White House.Amid tears from her supporters,Clinton issued a call for unity that emphasized the cultural and political milestones that she and Obama, the first black to secure a presidential nomination, represent.

Clinton is now expected to return to the campaign trail to stump for Obama. Some of her top backers are hoping she will play a larger role in the Obama campaign by becoming his running mate.Clinton told New York lawmakers this week that she'd be open to becoming the Democrat's vice presidential nominee, some of them said, but Obama has said only that Clinton "would be on anyone's short-list." Aides said Obama watched Clinton's speech live on the Internet. His campaign put a photo of the New York senator on its Web site and urged supporters to send her a message of thanks.Likewise,Clinton's Web site thanked her backers. "Support Senator Obama today," her Web page said. But for now,Hillary Clinton's bid to become the first ever U.S. female president seems to be over.

Well,I had expected her to announce the suspension of her campaign sooner rather than later.I was expecting her to do it after the last primary contest, but she did not do it then.I think after a few days to reflect upon her campaign, she knows that it would be best for her and the party if she announced it now or it would get much more worse if she drag on.If you want to know why she her campaign failed,I think there are several factors such as the involvement of her husband and former U.S. President,Bill Clinton, which was supposed to be one of her biggest asset in the campaign,as well as her plans to ignore most of the caucuses and focus more on the primaries instead.I mean Bill Clinton,as much as I like him, acted more like a liability than an asset in Clinton's campaign.spoke like a politician with nothing to lose, and his confrontational comments on the trail alienated supporters and undecideds alike. He stole headlines from his wife and regularly threw her team into triage mode, raising concerns over his outsized influence and contributing to the impression that a vote for her would be a ballot for restoring a second Bill Clinton presidency term. And her decision to skip most of the caucuses was another major blunder as well.Yes,she did won more primaries than Obama but he did swept the caucuses by storm, which in the end gave him more numbers of delegates than Hillary.

There of course many other factors that led to her demise but Im not going to explain it further. At the end of the day, there is no doubt that Hillary have ran a great campaign, the fact that 18 million people voted for her shows that she was able to compete at the highest level, whether she or Obama won the nomination,it would still be an historic making one but Im glad the American people have decided to go with Obama instead, since Im an Obama fan.Back then when both of them was still contesting against each other, both supporters said that they wont support the opposite candidate if he/she was the nominee, but I hope they (the Clinton supporters) will change their mind and support Obama just like she has done.Whether she will become Obama's running mate or not,I have no idea. She certainly can bring a huge level of support for Obama if that were to happen but there is still about 5 more months to go before the general election and it's anybody guess now.Even Republican presidential nominee,John McCain had not made his decision of the vice president,so let's not rush things.

I am looking forward to what the next few months will bring as we head into the general election. It should be very interesting to see who the vice president for both the nominee will be and whoever it will be,as far as Obama is concern,he/she will have my support as well.
