Inter-Racial Inter-Religious Harmony Nite 2008' held last Saturday...

I was invited to the annual Inter-Racial Inter-Religious Harmony Nite yesterday at the Singapore Expo and I am now going to tell you what the event is actually all about. Well, the Inter-Racial Inter-Religious Harmony Nite is actually a celebration of the inter-racial and inter-religious harmony that we Singaporeans enjoy and it is held every year in the month of July because it falls in the same month as the Racial Harmony Day.

This event was organised by Thye Hua Kan Moral Society, the Inter-Religious Organization, Singapore Indian Development Association, Yayasan Mendaki, Chinese Development Assistance Council, the Eurasian Association, Chee Hoon Kog Moral Promotion Society and Chee Hia Kog Moral Society. If I'm not mistaken, this is the fifth year that the event is being organised and it was my first time I was invited. President S R Nathan and Mrs Nathan was this year's event Guests-of-Honour. Highlights of the event included the invocations of the various religious traditions by members of the Inter-Religious Organization and performances that showcase the harmony between Singapore's different ethnic and religious groups. I really enjoyed myself yesterday and Im hoping I will invited to the event again next year. Here are some of the pictures I took yesterday:-

The menu for the day, the shark's fin soup was my favourite...

Performance by some of the ethnic group...
The finale, National Day might just have come too soon for us...
