As you all know yesterday, there was a football match between our Singapore Selection team and the Brazilian Olympic Team at the National Stadium. I was not interested to go all the way down to the stadium and watch the match because there was no Newcastle player playing for Brazil for me to see, unlike the last time when Australia came down when there was Mark Viduka. I know there is the likes of Ronaldinho and Anderson but Im not a big fan of them, and with the addition of the match ticket being expensive, I thought it was not worth watching until Joey asked me.
He asked me whether I was going to see the match and I said no and he asked whether I would be interested to see the match with him. He wanted to see it but he had no one to accompany him. Therefore, I told him to check if the $30 tickets were still available and I would be interested if that is the case. So Joey go and do some checking and the $30 tickets were still available. So he bought three of them. I said three because he had ask Azam to come as well. If I had known Azam was willing to come, I probably wouldn't be buying the ticket because at least Joey had someone to accompany him and that was the main reason why I agreed to go to the match but of course it was too late to change my mind. Nevertheless, it has been a while since I last met Joey and Azam, actually it was only a few weeks ago so it was a good thing too that I went to the match. Joey told us to meet at Kallang MRT at 6.30pm. I went to meet Azam first at Bedok Interchange and took the MRT there to Kallang. We saw a lot of people there, all eagerly waiting to go to the stadium and at the same time, we waited for Joey to come. He reached at about 7pm, the match starts at 8pm. There was a free shuttle bus service from the MRT station to the stadium but the queue was long, so we decided to walk. It's not that far actually, it is about 20mins walk. We got to the stadium, chose the front seat at the back of the goalpost. It wasn't the best of view but when a goal is scored, it is probably the closest you will ever get to see it (see pictures below).
The match is about to begin....
That is the closest I will ever get to Ronaldinho...
