If you had watch the Euro 2008 match between Turkey and Czech Republic last Sunday, you should know what I am talking about. It was the final group match and the winner of this match, along with the group leaders Portugal, will be going on to the quater-final, and you won't believe what happened in the game.
Going into this match, Czech Republic was the favourite to win. If Im not wrong, they are rank in the 6th spot in FIFA's ranking while Turkey is rank in the 20th spot. During the match, the Czechs took the lead first scoring in the 34th and then the 62nd minute. The score then was Turkey 0 Czech Republic 2 with the time was running out for Turkey to get two goals to bring the match into a penalty shoot out. And just when everyone thought it was over, Turkey scored in the 75th minute and then shortly after in the 87th minute. The comeback was on and just when I thought the match will be decided by a penalty shoot out, Turkey scored once more in the 89th minute. The score now reads Turkey 3 Czech Republic 2 with three minutes of extra time added on in which the Turkish goalkeeper was send off for pushing one of the Czech players but Turkey held strong and they eventually went to finish the match as the winner and going on the the quater-final.
What a great match it was. It was worth my time waking up at 2.30 in the morning to watch it. Unfortunately though, I felt asleep halfway and missed most part of the 1st half and woke up in the 2nd half to find Turkey trailing by 2 goals. And about 5 minutes later, Turkey scored and I was cheering for them to go and get the equaliser, but they did one better. I was thinking to myself then, maybe I am Turkey's good luck charm! But as long as they win, that is all that matters to me. I'm not particularly a Turkish fan, but I have a soft spot for them in the tournament. They did well to come back from the defeat against Portugal to beat Switzerland and then the Czech. I dont think that before the tournament started, anyone would have guess Turkey to made it to the quater-final but they did and I am really pleased. It was the second time they have come back from behind to win the match. So you should not count out the 'turkeys' first before they hatch. Up next for them is the match against giant killing Croatia which have defeated Germany in their group. That should be another exciting game to watch Im sure but right now, my focus is turn back to the upcoming Group C match between Italy and France where I will be rooting for the Italians of course.
Till then, take care and enjoy your football.

Hey you are right! You proved me WRONG! Haha.
Congrats to Turkey for shocking the favourite Czech Republic by 3-2.
Portugal lost 2-0. This was another shocking news! But they have nothing to lose since they had already booked their place in the Quarter Final.
If Italy advance with Holland, be prepare to post! Haha. It'll be another crucial match in Group C.
Haha told you so.The Turkish team is quite good actually and I think by going on to the q-final,they have also surpass their expectation as well which is good.
Yeah Portugal lost, but I think they didnt put out their strongest squad during the match.Afterall, they have already qualified but at the same time,it was good to see Switzerland, one of the host country winning, just to give the fans something to cheer about.
And definitely,I will be over the moon if Italy can make it to the q-finals as well.Just as long as Holland do their job against Romania,I think we will do our job against the French.Cant wait for it!
