Will you consider taking the MRT to Johor in the future?..

Yes you heard it right. The possibility of taking the MRT from Singapore and going to Johor could happen in the future but it is still premature to say whether Singapore's MRT line will eventually extend into Johor Bahru, according to Transport Minister Raymond Lim.

He was responding about a recent Bernama report,a Malaysian newspaper, which had quoted Johor Menteri Besar Abdul Ghani Othman as saying that a block of flats that was being torn down was for a train station that would serve as an extension of Singapore's MRT line, while adding that negotiations with the Singaporean authorities were still in early stages.Basically that is all the news that I can find regarding this issue. For me,I think the idea of extending the MRT line into Johor would be a great thing. It means you do not have to wait for long hours on the Causeway anymore.Actually the problem of jams at the Causeway is not as bad as it previously was with the 2nd Link being open for operation, but when unexpected problems like the recent Mas Selamat escaped happened,it can be a big problem,as we have seen over the past few months, though the jam is receding with more manpower being deployed. But imagine how the people who travels to back and fro from JB to Singapore and vise versa by public transportation would feel if this idea becomes a reality. It would definitely make life easier for them.

I am not a frequent visitor to Johor, and I only go there if someone offers me a ride, not by bus.I think if the MRT line can be extended to Johor,it will be much faster for the people to travel.I know there are many Johorians who are working or schooling in Singapore and they have to wake early in the morning to travel to Singapore in order to avoid the traffic congestion. If they can take the MRT instead, their life would be made much easier as well.It is just like going to one place to another in Singapore by taking the MRT.I really hope that this idea would become a reality, then I would consider travelling to Johor more often. Both the Malaysians and Singaporeans will benefit a lot if this deal comes through.I hope to hear positive response in the future from our authorities regarding this issue. The sooner it is,the better it will be.

Another week,another win!

If you are a football fan, then Im sure you have heard the good news yesterday. If there is another club in the league that I badly want to beat other than Sunderland and Middlesbrough (because of the derby thingy of course),another club that I also badly want to beat is Tottenham and we did just that yesterday, beating them 4-1 at their own backyard, the White 'Fart' Lane as I like to call it.

Why you may ask? Its because the Tottenham supporters has always thought that their club is better than my club after their small revival since Martin Jol took over and just because they have recently won the Carling Cup does not mean they are better than us.We are still better and bigger than them no matter how much trophy they are going to win and no matter how much higher their position are than us.Anyway,I want to talk about yesterday's result. We were trailing 1-0 down on the 26th minute and when the half time was almost over,Nicky Butt pops out of nowhere to score the equalising goal. Then in the second half,we scored 3 more from Geremi,Owen and Martins. We should have scored more had Spurs keeper did not made some fantastic saves. But what was more pleasing for me is that our performance in the second half was like me,fantastic, probably our best second half performance throughout the whole season.

Despite the two win in the last two games,we cannot guarentee our safety yet but we are getting closer and closer to safety. If we can keep producing that performance in the second half for our remaining games,Im sure we will be safe. When you are losing, you hope that the next game will not come soon enough but when you are winning, you hope the next game would come very soon.Everything is going very well now and hopefully it will continue to so.Till then, see you after our next match which is against fellow strugglers,Reading this weekend. And remember,Im fantastic.Be champions.

Obama: Clinton should stay in the race 'as long as she wants'

If you have been following the news this past few days or so,you would have probably listen to many Obama's supporters calling for Hillary Clinton to quit the Democratic presidential race.Of course Hillary has said many times before that whatever the outcome is,she is not quitting the race until the Democratic party can find the official nominee for the party.

Well my man,Senator Obama has came out yesterday and said that Hillary should stay in the race 'as long as she wants'.Two of Obama's leading supporters, Sens. Christopher Dodd and Patrick Leahy, said Friday that Clinton should rethink her chances of overcoming that deficit and consider folding her campaign. Many people in the Democratic party feels that if the race goes for too long,it might damage the party's chances of winning the election in November and it cause a split within the party itself if the two candidates continue to bash each other up.Well,Barack Obama disagree with this by calling the fears that the Democratic Party would be damaged by a long campaign "somewhat overstated." But he added that both he and Clinton should avoid campaign attacks "that could be used as ammunition for the Republicans" in November. And he could not be more right. If you see the current state of both candidates, then it would look likely that Obama is going to win the race.Look at where we are right now.Clinton has won primaries in the biggest states so far,but Obama has won more total contests and leads her in the race for delegates to the party's August convention in Denver, where the Democratic nominee will be formally ratified. So the favor is going to Obama rather than Clinton but looking at what has happened since last January, you can never know what to expect next.

I think that calls for Hillary Clinton to quit the race now is not the right thing to do no matter how much I want to see Obama winning the nominee. She might be trailing to Obama right now,but she is not far behind. You have to remember that there are still somemore primaries left to vote and some big states as well such as Pennsylvania. There are still people out there who wish to have their voice heard. The superdelegates could still play a part of course in deciding whos the nominee is going to be.All this talk of damaging the party's chances is rubbish in my opinion because Im sure when the Democratic party can finally announce a nominee, the other candidate which didnt make it will give their full support to the winner despite all the criticisms that has been going on throughout the campaign.I think the American people had more than enough time to know both the candidates already,Barack Obama in particular so even if it takes till August during the convention to find a nominee,it doesnt matter much. For what Hillary Clinton has already achieved over the past 3 months or so is a great thing, therefore to quit the race before the reaching the finishing line would be a total waste of her effort. Its better to go all the way and lose than to go half way and giving it up.Its not like during the Republican race, when McCain was sure to become the nominee, but in the Democratic race, both candidates can still win.So I hope she will not listen to what the critics say and continue to fight on,but at the end of the day,Im still hoping for an Obama win of course.Lastly,Im fantastic.Be champions.

'The Special One' is in talk to return....

If you are a football fan, then Im sure you know who am I referring to when I say the term 'The Special One'.For the sake of you who have no clue who he is,he is former Chelsea manager,Jose Mourinho.Reports have been on going today that he has been seen in Italy on Friday in order to engage in discussions with the Serie A champions Inter Milan,my favourite Italian club about becoming their coach next season. How great is that!

If you think this is probably another one of those false rumours, then youre wrong because this news has been confirmed by his personal advisor himself. He has said that Mourinho has left Milan for talks with Inter directors. Now if you remember in one of my post earlier,I wrote about the news that the current Inter's manager,Roberto Mancini has decided to step down at the end of this season but a few days later,he had a change of mind and decided that he would stay till his contracts run out, which is about for another 2 more years, and try to help Inter win the Champions League,in which Inter's president has agreed to let him do so but I think if someone as good as Jose Mourinho come knocking on your door, wanting to manage your club, you do not want to let the golden opportunity slip away do you.Mourinho of course made no secret of his desire to manage in Italy or Spain upon leaving Chelsea,so if he is going to be the new manager for Inter for next season,it wouldnt come as any surprise. He was of course have been linked with several Spanish clubs as well like Barcelona but I doubt Frank Rijkaard will leave the club next season.

When I heard the news that Mancini would be stepping down at the end of this season,I was sad but then when he said he will not do that,I was pleased. But now my favourite manager is showing interest in managing the club,I dont know what to make of it,but right now,I think it would be a great thing if Jose takes over the club for next season. What Mancini did was suicidal.First he said he was leaving, then he said he had a change of mind.I got a lot of respect for what he has done with Inter but I think once he said he is going to leave, that has ultimately sealed his fate.I think he is good, but not good enough to help us win the converted Champions League. If there is a competition I really want to see Inter winning, its the Champions League and if we can get Jose Mourinho to guide us,he would be able to do it just like he did with Porto.I thought if he didnt leave Chelsea earlier,he would have got a good chance to win it this season, but anyway Chelsea is still in the Champions League with most of the team made of Mourinho's player that he bought into the club,so he should take some credit too if Chelsea wins the Champions League, though I doubt it will happen.Jose managing Inter will be great and I hope it will happen sooner rather than later because with Jose CVs,he is not short of suitor.Lets hope for some good news in the weeks ahead regarding this development.

Disasterous opening for Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5...

It was supposed to be a grand event for the long-awaited opening of a multi-billion dollar new terminal at London's Heathrow airport yesterday, but unfortunately everything was going in the wrong direction.Terminal 5 suffered a major setback on Thursday when a high-tech baggage handling system malfunctioned, causing major delays amid flight cancellations. That is definitely not a start that any airports would have wanted for their opening day.

The problem was so severe that at some point of time, passengers with baggage were no longer being checked in during the time when the airport's Terminal 5 should have been entering one of the busiest periods of the day.Heathrow's new terminal, which cost $8.6 billion and was two decades in the making, boasts sophisticated luggage system designed to handle 12,000 bags an hour. With so much time spend in the making and so much money invested, you would expect the opening day should have gone very smoothly but of course that was not the case.British Airways, the only airline using the terminal, confirmed that passengers could now only check in with hand luggage. The problem also caused the cancellation of at least 34 flights on Thursday and some others being delayed understandably. Now if you have been following the story prior to the opening, you would have probably knew that the decision to open Terminal 5 has received some protests from enviroment activists, and they was at the terminal on the opening day not to welcome the opening but to protest.

The protesters stripped off their outer clothes not to show their half naked body, but to show red T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan "Stop Airport Expansion." The demonstrators are concerned that a third runway and a sixth terminal will be created at Heathrow, the world's busiest international airport.Supporters of the decision says that expansion of Heathrow is vital for the city's economy while the protestors says that expanding London's three main airports will only add to harmful climate change. With 60 aircraft stands actually attached to two new buildings, "T5" can handle dozens of planes at the same time, including the new Airbus A380 superjumbo, and can process 12,000 bags an hour. All of this is for just one occupant: British Airways. So I thought it would be more fitting to name it the 'British Airways Terminal' instead of Terminal 5.It is expected that at least 30 million people will be able to pass through Terminal 5 each year.

If I am being honest,I think there isnt actually a need to expand the airport because the remaining 4 terminals has the ability for London to accomodate to all the flights coming in to the airport and it has the space to build the infrastructure for the Airbus A380,without the need to open another Terminal, unlike our own Terminal 3 which has recently open a few months ago.We dont actually have a lot of space for Terminal 1 and 2 to build an expansion to accomodate the A380,therefore,we had to build Terminal 3,with plans for Terminal 4 underway if you havnt heard the news yet.So I understand what the people are protesting about because if you get more planes into your country, then of course,it will be more damaging to the climate, but as we can see today,Airbus and Boeing is planning to build more planes that are less harmful to the environment, without affecting its services, take the A380 for example. It might be the biggest, but many say it could also be one of the cleanest. So I expect the aviation industry to change dramatically in about 5 to 10 years ahead.Anyway, back to the topic, the British government have a very high hope on T5 but it certainly hasnt been a smooth opening.Malfunction in the baggage checking system, flight delays and cancellations, the last thing an airport would have wish for on its opening day.Ive seen the airport on the news,it looks good but our Terminal 3 looks better obviously, but I expect things to get better in the opening weeks. It will definitely bring a lot of revenue and Im sure the protestors will forget about everything soon.

Get ready to pay more if you are going to the movie....

I dont know if you heard about the news yesterday, but starting on Thursday which is today, there will be a 50 cents increase for movie tickets at Golden Village cinemasGolden Village Multiplex has announced that it will revise its ticket prices at its nine outlets. The organisation said the price increase is a result of the current market situation and rising costs.

But you might want to take note that for Gold Class and Cinema Europa ticket prices, movie promotional packages and rates with banks, students and other promotional partners, the movie tickets will remain unchanged. So I think if you are still a student,or if you are watching at Gold Class or Cinema Europa, you dont have to worry about paying more for the tickets.Other movie organisations like Cathay Cineplex and Eng Wah Organisation have no plans to increase ticket prices however. But whether they will change their plans in the future, which I believe they will do,Im not so sure.Thats the bad news.I have also a good news to share with you.If you watch a movie at Tampines GV from now till 30th April, you will only need to pay $6 instead of the normal $8,that if you watch the movie during any of the weekdays and before 5pm,which I always do,so its good news for me.By saying students,I mean those who are still in primary, secondary and tertiary education in Singapore of course. It is not valid during the school holidays, not that there is any school holidays coming up and each student/concession pass is valid for up to a maximum of 2 discounted tickets purchase only. And please remember to bring your student card if you are coming down. All this only at my favourite cinema,Tampines GV.

I was quite surprised when I heard that GV is going to raise the movie ticket prices more surprising when it is probably the most profitable movie organisation in Singapore as compared to the other two organisation. This is my personal view anyway,I dont have the exact net profit or net loss for all three but when you talk about going to watch a movie,Golden Village will definitely comes to your mind in the first thing. But good news for me and you,as students, the price will remain unchange.I am a huge movie goer,so I was very relieved when I heard that part.In fact next Monday,Im going to watch a new movie. So the group of people that is going to be affected by this decision the most is probably going to be your parents or those who are old enough not to be call students anymore.Anyway,50 cents is not much of an increase for me at least. But nowadays, people always try to find the easier and cheaper way to watch the movie like buying illegal VCDs or DVDs,I dont do it that often. So if you can,try not do it too often as well.Support the movie industries and support it the legal way.Or if you want to save money, you can always go to Eng Wah or Cathay though I think Golden Village offers the best experience to the movie goers.A lot of good movie coming up fast and furious,Indiana Jones,Narnia,Batman, wow I cant wait.Hopefully my money wont go burst so quickly!

Why 'diet coke' is not so 'diet' after all...

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when I say the word 'Diet Coke'? You would most probably think that diet coke or diet soda is much more healthier than the normal coke or soda because it usually says it has less calories right? Well, thats not particularly true and I tell you why.

Recent research has shown that artificial sweeteners in soda may interfere with your body’s ability to estimate how many calories you’ve ingested,so you eat more than you need.In a new rat study, animals that ate fake sugar consumed more calories overall and gained weight, compared to those that didn’t eat artificially sweetened treats. So when they say that diet soda contains less calories as compared to normal sodas, that is obviously not true,as the research has proven. Then you may ask, thats only one research,it cant be that reliable right? Well there are actually other kind of research being done as well.It was also found that for every diet soda you sip daily, your risk of becoming overweight can rise by 37 percent, according to researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.37 percent is a lot, however,I dont have the data for the normal sodas but I think you will gain more weight too but not more than 37 percent because I think we all know that regular soda is a total sugar bomb.At roughly 225 calories a pop,a 20-ounce bottle of regular soda packs nearly as many calories as a chocolate bar.

After reading the news,I was shocked because I admit,I am a regular soda lover, not the diet ones in particular, but the regular ones and Im sure many of you out there have the same habit as me.I had always thought that being diet,it is much more healthier than the regular ones, but never had I expected it to be far more damaging to the body.I will now try to reduce my soda intake as much as I can to stay healthy.I dont know how am I going to do it,but Im going to try my best and I hope you will do the same as well for our own well being. Its not that you cant drink it anymore, just reduce the number of cans or bottles you drink each day, weeks,or better months.Typically speaking, soda contains zero nutrients so in shorter term, there is no use of drinking soda. The results of the research scares me,I dont know how much overweight percentages that have been contributed by drinking sodas in my body, but somehow rather,I manage to keep my body fit,no serious health problems so far and hopefully nothing crops up in the future.I also try to drink fruit juice once in a while, they are full of vitamins,so its good for you.Hope this post has help you on keeping yourself fit one way or another.Dont just be a consumer,be an alert consumer yes? If you want keep diet, then stay away from the diet soda.Till then, stay safe and keep being healthy.

First it was the cartoon, then it is a movie...

Now if you remember two years ago, there was some controversy over the decision of a Danish newspaper to publish cartoons of Prophet Muhammad in many Muslim countries which was obviously angry that Prophet Muhammad is being made fun of.If you think things couldnt get any worse, there will soon be an anti-Koran film being shown by Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders .The title of the film is apparently call 'Fitna' which means to accuse someone wrongly, according to its website which has been suspended recently by its U.S. hosting service after receiving a lot of complaints.

The website is now under investigation by the company hosting the service,Network Solutions on whether the site violates its term of service. While the exact contents of the 15-minute movie, due to be released by March 31,are unknown,Wilders has said it will underscore his view that Islam's holy book is "fascist." Wilders has said he will release his movie on the Internet after television stations refused to air it.And of course when such thing happens, there will be a protest and thousands demonstrated against Wilders' film on Saturday in a way to show that he does not represent the whole country.Wilders heads a reactionary party with nine seats in the 150-member Dutch parliament, elected on an anti-immigration platform.A Dutch court will hear a complaint lodged by Muslim groups seeking to bar Wilders from releasing the film March 28,but there is no legal barrier preventing Wilders from releasing his film before then.
It was not clear whether YouTube or other video sharing sites would be willing to host the movie.

Now I was absolutely livid when I heard about this news because the cartoons publication was already bad,and this news doesnt help to ease the tension,in particular of the Muslim world. Its sad to see that when this kind of thing happens, the people who are responsible for it defends their actions by simply saying they are practising their 'freedom of speech' or the 'freedom to express themselves' as what had happened for the cartoons publication. But Im sure the word 'freedom' does not mean that you are able to do anything you want to the extent that it can be seen as an insult to a group of people. With the problems that the world is dealing right now, religious rights is a very serious and sensitive issue to discuss about.Im not speaking this just because Im a Muslim, but Im speaking this as a human being with a sense of what is right and what is acceptable when you talk about expressing yourself.

I dont see the need to publish a cartoon of Prophet Muhammad other than the fact that it is done to provoke the Muslim world and I dont see the need to publish a movie of an anti-Koran film, and by calling it with words such as 'fitnah' and 'facist' is absolutely outrageous, and even more so when he is a public figure.I hope the Dutch government will stop him from showing the movie on the big screen and I hope that video sharing website will disallow him to use the internet to showcase his film. There is absolutely no point of doing so,other than to add fuel to the fire that is already burning.I wonder how will he feel if someday we use the bible and make a mockery out of it,the same way he has done, but that is not what Muslim is about. We should not react the same way our enemies did to us,nor should we act violently, instead,we should try and deal with this matter peacefully, the way it should be done.

My best birthday gift ever...

Today, the 23rd of March was the day that I was introduce to this universe and in my 18 years of existence on this planet so far,I have never receieved a better birthday gift then yesterday, when my beloved club,Newcastle United, finally won a match since late December or January,I cant remember because it has been so damn long,it seems like forever, but that is history as far as I am concern.

We took on Fulham yesterday,in which we won 2-0 with two of my favourite players at the club,Mark Viduka and Michael Owen getting on the scoresheet. Its the icing on the cake. Many people have said that Viduka is a lazy striker and Owen doesnt work hard enough.I completely disagree with them.I think the problem that they have with this two players is that they dont understand the way of how they play, which is sad.But anyway, yesterdays result was a great team performance. We also kept a clean sheet which is nice as well.I am feeling very happy right now,it is the best birthday gift I ever had thus far and I really mean it.Lets hope this is a turn of fortune for our club in our remaining matches in our effort to avoid relegation. Before I end,I would also like to say thank you to all the people who have wish me a happy birthday.I really appreciate it.Take care and have a nice day.

Taiwan go to the polls.... (Updated on March 23rd)

Voters in Taiwan on Saturday headed to the polls to vote in presidential elections, with the recent violence in Tibet in the backdrop and Taiwan's own relations with China on the front burner. The slowing economy in Taiwan is also expected to be an issue in this election. The poll is being watched closely by Beijing and Washington for signs of a shift in approach after eight years of tensions under outgoing President Chen Shui-bian.The two candidates are Harvard-educated,Ma Ying-jeou of the opposition Kuomintang, who is considered the frontrunner, against pro-independence ruling party chief Frank Hsieh.

Now both of them agrees that it is important to have a closer ties with China, but differ on details. Ma wants the benefits of China's robust economy, while Hsieh wants to go slower and hold back in some areas.China of course considers Taiwan has an inseparable part of China and constantly pushes for eventual reunification. The recent incident in Tibet would probably be playing on the back of the mind for the Taiwanese people if they ever decides to declare independence.China has even threatened to go to war, should Taiwan declare formal independence. Therefore the stakes are very high in this election.Tibet,in western China, was an independent country when China took control in 1949,the same year Taiwan split from the mainland in a civil war.Separatist aspirations and anti-government sentiments remain strong among many Tibetans as seen during the events in Tibet the last few days or so.Hsieh, pointing to China's response, says the same thing could happen to Taiwan if it gets too close to Beijing.Ma however disgaree by saying that Taiwan is not Tibet and that Taiwan is ''sovereign country and a democratic country."The island is the world's 17th largest economy, mainly on the back of its information technology sector, but is performing worse than many of its Asian counterparts unfortunately.Ma,in his last rally yesterday vowed to be the creator of a new Taiwan" and to lead a "clean and sunshine government" free of corruption while Hsieh, used his last rally to accuse Ma of being soft on China and ready to sell out the nation.Over 17 million people are expected to turn out for the voting.

Its definitely going to be a close fight between the two candidates. But my vote is going to Ma Ying-jeou because I have been really impressed with him and his background. And I think the Taiwanese people are much more comfortable interacting with him that Hsieh. He looks more friendly and I like his view that Taiwan should reunite with China if they change its policy.I think the current Taiwan President,Chen Shui-Bian has done a decent job.He is determine to declare independence from China but I dont think that is the right thing to do.The way I see Taiwan relations with China getting better if they work more closely together, instead of argueing with one another over the issue of independence.China will never ever allow that to happen,so I think it will be fruitless for the next Taiwanese President to continue doing the same thing as Mr Chen has done. The next president should instead focus on the issue within the country like the economy which isnt doing well before trying to deal with external issues and I think Mr Ma is the perfect person to do it,to bring Taiwan back into being a successful island and working at how to strengthen its relations with China without making anyone suffer or angry.I would be really disappointed if he didnt win it.
* PS: The election results was announced yesterday, and if you have watched the news yesterday, that of course you would have probably know what the result is.For the sake of those who still do not know who won it,then Im glad to say Mr Ma is going to be the new Taiwanese President. He won 58 per cent of the vote to Mr Hsieh 41 per cent.I am very happy with the result, and Im looking forward to a new Taiwan under Mr Ma's leadership. He is going to be sworn somewhere in the month of May.

Obama receives big boost....

U.S. Democratic Presidential candidate, and my man,Senator Barack Obama, yesterday received a big boost in his campaign.Declaring that Sen. Barack Obama is an "extraordinary American," Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico endorsed Obama for the Democratic nominee for president on Friday. And as you know if you have followed the Presidential race from the beginning,Gov.Richardson was one of Obama's former competition in the race, but he quit the race early because of disappointing support in the early rounds.

And since then, both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have been continuosly asking for Gov.Richardson for his endorsement and it was only yesterday that he decided to announce that he would be endorsing Barack Obama.Whats surprising about this news is that Gov.Richardson is more of a close friend to the Clintons than Obama,so if anyone was guessing which way he would go to,they would probably say he is going to endorse Hillary.Richardson was secretary of energy and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under President Bill Clinton. He said he remains friends with the Clintons, and watched the Super Bowl with Bill Clinton this year.So definitely, this news is a big blow to them and a huge boost for Obama. You might also want to know that Richardson is the nation's only Hispanic governor.Hispanics have tended to support Sen. Hillary Clinton in her quest for the Democratic nomination as seen with the previous round of voting.Looking at the remaining states ahead, there is not much of Hispanics left to vote so this news would most probably affect the people's decision to go for him. However,Richardson's endorsement may be more important for its influence on superdelegates, the nearly 800 Democratic party officials whose backing will be essential for either candidate to win the party's nomination.Whether that is true or not, only time will tell.Richardson is the second former Democratic presidential contender to endorse Obama, after Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut. Two other former candidates,Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware and former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, have remained neutral.None of the dropouts has endorsed Clinton however.

The Clinton campaign responded to this news by saying that at the end of the day,its the voters, and not the endorsements that will determine who is going to win the race, but somehow deep inside, you can feel their disappointment and frustration regarding this development.Being an Obama fan,of course I was please with this news.I would also like to point out that Gov.Richardson has been reported as being one of the contenders to be the running mate if Obama wins the nominee but theres has been nothing said on Obama's part of course. Some say that his endorsement of Barack Obama was because he would like to gain Obama's support to be his running mate if he is successful but I dont think that is the case.I think Gov.Richardson can see Obama as being a great leader for America. For me,I dont really care about the endorsements because I dont think it has exactly a big impact at all.The people must remember its the candidate they are voting for and not the person who is endorsing them, but Ill take anything good that comes for now after everything that has happened recently about Obama and his former pastor.Hopefully,it hasnt affect his campaign much.Cant wait for the next round of contest.

Singtel to broadcast European football while Starhub to back out soon..

Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) yesterday announced that it has won exclusive rights to broadcast UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup 2009-2012 on its mobile, internet and mio TV platforms. In addition,SingTel also plans to stream UEFA Champions League games both ‘live’ and on-demand on mio TV,and the Internet through the IDEAS portal http://www.ideas.singtel.com/ .It will also offer clips on its mobile service.

So basically, what this mean is that if youre a Singtel mobile subscriber, you will probably most likely be able to catch some of the best actions from the Champions League and the UEFA Cup on your mobile anytime you want. And if you subscribe to mio TV as well, you will be able to watch the matches from your television. Then you may ask right, whats the use of subscribing to mio TV when most of you are now subscribing to Starhub cable TV which also airs both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup on the various sports channels such as Supersports,ESPN,and StarSports.Well Ive got some bad news for you.StarHub has said it did not bid for the broadcast rights for the Champions league for the 2009 season onwards, therefore, you will not be able to catch some of the best European teams in action from next 2 season onwards on the Starhub cable TV.Why they had decided not to bid for it,I have no idea. They said they had not bid for the rights to telecast the Champions League game,so I think it doesnt affect the UEFA Cup matches.

But you may still catch the action on the two cable channels however,on ESPN and STAR Sports, which will continue to broadcast the Champions League till May 2009.It will not affect the other football programes such as the FA Cup,England international home matches, and the Asian Football Confederation matches. So sad to say from May 2009 onwards, the only way you want to catch the Champions League matches is by subscribing to mio TV or maybe go to the IDEAS portal or change your mobile subscribers to Singtel. But of course if you are interested in watching the goals only, which I dont think many of you will enjoy, then there are other ways such as finding it on Youtube. As for me,Im already a Singtel mobile subscriber but I dont have mio TV.If you never heard of mio TV before,it is the Singtel version of Starhub cable vision, but with less entertainment but cheaper price since it just started some years ago if Im not wrong.

Im disappointed that Starhub has decided not to bid for telecast right to show the Champions League matches from he 2009-2010 season onwards but on the other hand, being a Singtel mobile subscriber,Im happy with the news.I dont exactly watch the Champions League because my favourite teams is not used to playing regularly in the competition as before, only Inter Milan is consistantly particpating in it,but Newcastle, maybe UEFA Cup for now unfortunately. But for most of you who are Arsenal and Man Utd fan,Im sure this news is going to be a big blow.I expect a lot of complaints from Starhub cable subscribers in the coming months ahead. We already had to pay more money for the English Premier League broadcast, now we cant even watch the Champions League on Starhub Cable Vision in the future. If you so desperate, then of course you can subscribe to both cable vision. If you have anything to say on this issue, please do so because I would love from you by leaving a comment or you can simply tag the chatbox beside there.Till then, take care and enjoy the rest of the European football while you can.

A BIG Thank You To Everyone @ BNSS....

Ok guys,if you was from Secondary 5A last year in Bedok North Secondary School, then you would have probably attended the class chalet the last few days or so,unless you didnt know about it or you are too lazy or have other business to attend to.I came down for the first two days,it was fun, sometimes boring I have to say,but thank god there was CNN at the chalet to past the time there.A big thank you to the guys for organising the chalet especially to Joey and Azam and not to mention everyone who attended it to make it a memorable event.

I was hoping for full attendance but I guess not everyone is free nowadays but I think it was still a good turnout yes? For those who didnt come,I would like to say thank you to you too for the time we spend together as classmates for everything that you have done for me whether I realise it or not.For those of you whom I have teased many times before, like Wee Tiong, please forgive me.I dont know why I like to do it,but I hope you dont take it to heart yeah. Some of you have been with me for the last 5 years like Syairazi,Jia Min,and Jing Hong among others.I look at the pictures when we were in Sec 1 and how you guys look now,its totally different.5 years went just like that,it is so fast. Then of course there was some of you that I knew since Sec 3 like Zhuan Liang,Shi Heng and many others I cant remember, sorry.Even though we spend less time together as compared to others,I think you people have been a great help as well,so thank you too.

The other group of people I want to thank is my friends in Sec 1 who went to different class in Sec 3 such as Danish,Firdaus, and Rasydan among others. We may be in the same class for a couple of years, but we was in the same school for 5 years. And during the 2 years we had together,it was a lot of fun as well, although at times you people was really out of control.I know that since I was the chairman. But who cares right? Before I end, theres another group that I would like to thank and that is my former classmates which have left the school before I did, such as Luqman,Hanis,Abdullah,Kenneth,Bin Kai and many more of course. You guys were great as well.So thank you to you people as well. But of course the class that left the deep impact on me the most was Secondary 5A.I shall remember the moments we had together, through fun times or bad times. It has been great being in the same class with you guys, all of you are very nice people.I dont have any problems with any of you although I dont know if the same can be said on your perspective.I hope it is.

I hope the chalet outing wont be the last time we will be seeing each other.I hope there will be other times that we will meet each other again. The friendship doesnt end here.It should go on forever. It doesnt matter where you go next,JC,Poly,ITE or whatever but I dont think we should forget the friendship that have been made for the last couple of years or so.As we make new friends,we should not forget our old ones.Alright,I guess this is the end of my thank you speech.I wish each and everyone of you future success in everything that you do,take good care of yourself and hope to see you guys again soon.Farewell.
*PS: For those people whose name was not mention in the speech, please forgive me.If I could,I would love to put everyone names down but I think that is not possible. It doesnt mean that I have anything against you or anything so please dont feel disheartened or misunderstood.I treat everyone of you equally as my friends, each and everyone of you have made a difference in my time at BNSS one way or another,so thank you as well to those name which I have not mention like Cheryl.Muahahaha.Alright I sincerely mean it.

A look back into the war in Iraq....

As you all know already,it has been 5 years since America launch the war in Iraq in which we have seen Saddam Hussein being captured and brought to justice and the setting up of a new government among other events. But the question that keeps being ask by many people is,has the war made Iraq a better and a safer place or nothing different have been happening or maybe perhaps, the situation has become much more worse than before the Americans came.

Well, that is what Anderson Cooper and the CNN news team in Iraq is going to do.They are going to take a look back at the start of the Iraq War and where we stand now five years later in a special presentation of 'Anderson Cooper 360: Shock And Awe,5 Years Later' airing today at 6pm only on your number one news channel CNN.You may click on this video link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deFBhhKtG78 to watch a preview of it.If you want to know my views on the Iraq war, then you would have probably knew that I have long been supporting the war, despite not able to find weapon of mass destruction. But I think Iraq is now on its path in having a much safer and stable country that it was 5 years ago.

A380 superjumbo makes European debut in London...

After making its first commercial flight from Singapore to Sydney,it has now made its way to London. An A380,the world's largest aircraft, touched down at London's Heathrow Airport Tuesday afternoon, completing the plane's first-ever commercial flight to Europe.Singapore Airlines Flight SQ308 took off from Changi airport in Singapore at 9:19 am Tuesday and arrived in London at around 2:50 pm after 13 and a half hours in the sky (Britain is a day late from Singapore) about 15 minutes ahead of schedule. There were 449 passengers on board.

The flight was widely anticipated by Britain, just as it was when it landed in Sydney and when it landed for the first time in Singapore. And which country wouldnt? It is always great to see something big as the superjumbo coming to your city. When it landed in Australia,it was greeted by the then Australian Prime Minister,John Howard, while yesterdays event was greeted by British aviation minister Jim Fitzpatrick and business minister Pat McFadden, both who were very impressed with the A380.McFadden said that the plane was quieter and cleaner than existing commercial aircraft. Now many people agree with this but they also argued that the environmental benefits of the high-capacity plane will be outweighed by rising demand for air travel. The A380,as tall as a seven-story building, can seat more than 800 passengers in an all-economy class configuration.Singapore Airlines has opted for 471 seats in three classes; 12 Singapore Airlines suites,60 business class and 399 economy class seats. Each luxury suite is equipped with sliding doors,a 58-centimeter (23-inch) LCD TV,a full bed and a leather seat. Two of the suites can be joined to provide double beds.So you can somehow imagine how spacious the luxury suite is.It feels like having your own private room and bed on the sky.

Singapore Airlines took delivery of the jet,the carrier's third,at the Airbus delivery center in Toulouse,France, last Tuesday and will fly it daily between Singapore and London. It has also deployed its two other A380s on daily services between Singapore and Sydney. It has firm orders for a further 16 such planes.SIA will also start flying another A380 jet,its fourth and yet to be delivered,on its Singapore-Tokyo route from May 20.The A380's first commercial flight was in October last year. Its development by Airbus was plagued by serious cost overruns and and delivery delays of as much as two years.Dubai-based Emirates will become the second airline with the plane when it takes its first delivery in August.

Its great to see that everything is going well for the A380 after the problems they had sometime ago with the delays and everything. But I think everything is going very smoothly now.I was really anticipating its delivery to Singapore Airlines but I was disappointed when they announced there is going to be a delay. So when the time came,I couldnt be more pleased. It is such a beautiful and amazing aircraft.I dont think there will be no other aircraft there will be bigger than this but you never know.I have never hop in into one of them, but I have seen them up close during the recent Singapore Air Show.It was super huge, you got to see it for yourself to realise how huge it really is.One thing I might point out is that the A380 hasnt been very popular with the various airlines because they think that it will be waste of space and money because it is so huge they dont know if they can fill every seats,so they are not taking the risk.In a way that is true, but if you are buying it,then you should use it for flights to popular destination, just like what SIA has done with Sydney and now London.Ive seen the suites before and I have to say,it looks really impressive. If I have the money,I would buy a ticket to any destination with the A380 right now.Airbus and Singapore Airlines have shown us once again why the are one of the best in the business. Here hoping for the success of A380 for the future.

Tibet's deadly riots....

As you would have probably knew already if you watch the news of course, there recently has been a riot by the people of Tibet against the Chinese government. The Tibetans have been living in exile for a very long time in China and apparently, they had enough of it and now, they are demanding for freedom from the government.Protests against Chinese rule in Tibet culminated Friday when Tibetans attacked ethnic Chinese and torched their shops in Lhasa, the region's capital.

Death tolls from the violence vary.Exiled Tibetan independence campaigners say at least 80 people died while Chinese authorities put the figure lower. The Chinese government have given the anti-Chinese protestors a deadline to surrender, which is over now,but there has been no confirmation from both sides yet on whether the protestors have decided to do just that. But some residents reported on Monday that Lhasa had quieted down and many people were returning to work.Chinese military police reportedly set up many checkpoints to control movement. You may ask who actually started the protest in the first place. In a news conference in Beijing on Monday,Champa Phuntsok, the head of Tibet's regional government, blamed the violence on "a small group of separatists and criminals" who take their lead from exiled followers of Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama of course refuse to take the blame and he have since condemned China's action in his homeland, accusing Beijing of "cultural genocide." Many locations,in Tibet's capital of Lhasa were burned by rioters, which includes banks, shops, schools, and hospitals. The Chinese police who were send there to stop the protest was actually much more violent, well that according to the Tibetan exiles.

Tibet is officially an autonomous region of China, but the Dalai Lama said that Tibetans are treated by the Chinese as second-class citizens in their own land.He said they need full autonomy to protect their cultural heritage. Many countries such as the US and Russia are calling for restraint by China. While the US wants China to find a way to talk to the Dalai Lama,Russia is calling China's relations with the Dalai Lama an internal matter and saying efforts to boycott this summer's Beijing Olympics are "unacceptable."And speaking about the upcoming Beijing Olympics, this protest have certainly done a lot of damage to China's reputation about human rights and recently there has been some reports about boycotting the Olympics but that is not going to happen, according to the International Olympic Commitee President,Jacques Rogge.Well Im glad to hear that. For now,it is difficult to get any information from Tibet as China restricts access by foreign journalists to Tibet, and officials were being kicked out in the region, making it difficult to verify information about the protests, the biggest and fiercest in almost two decades.

My view on this issue is that such incident shouldnt and wouldnt have happen if the Chinese government can have a talk with the Dalai Lama.At the moment,I cant see it happening, even after this unfortunate event.I think the Dalai Lama is willing to talk to the Chinese government at anytime but unfortunately, the same cant be said for the government. You got a group of people living in exile in one part of China, whether you like it or not,it is part of China and they deserve to be treated like all the Chinese citizens in other cities.I dont know whether the Dalai Lama's claims that the Tibetans are being treated like a 'second class citizens' is true because I dont live in Tibet, but if it is true, then its about time the Chinese government does something to improve the situation.I also dont think that the Olympics will be affected,I believe it will go as plan,I hope that will be the case.It would be sad if the biggest sporting event in the world is going to boycott. For me,sports and politics shouldnt be seen as one thing. The situation in Tibet seems like improving now, lets hope there will be no more violence from both sides of the party and instead, they should look at solving the problem and not putting the blame on each other.

No more sharing of file online...

Yup you heard it right. From April onwards, there will be ban for file sharing from the internet. But dont worry. This only affect people from Japan.Japan has decided to beat France and the United Kingdom (both who have similar proposals) to become the first country to ban file sharers from the internet. How fantastic that is,and I mean it in a good way.

Interestingly though, this move has not been initiated by the Japanese government, but from Japan’s four internet service provider organizations after pressure from the record and movie industries.According to Torrent Freak, the internet file sharing website, the agreement would see copyright holders tracking down file-sharers on the Internet using “special detection software” and then notifying ISPs of alleged infringers.File sharers will initially receive a warning for a first offense, then be disconnected for subsequent offenses, eventually be disconnected from the internet permanently.Yup,it is that strict and I think it is good as well.I mean if you want to send a message, then you should do it in a very strong manner in which people will have to think twice before doing it.

I think it is a good move by the Japanese,a country where file sharing online is very rapid. With this ban in place,we will not see any irresponsible actions anymore. Its time to protect what is right. The problem of 'online piracy' as I like to call it has been going on for too long, not just in Japan but Im talking about globally of course. Now,I know many people will be very unhappy with this ban,but I think they need to understand the reason behind it.I dont know if this will be a start for other countries to follow suit, but I hope it will. Its about time we put a top on online file-sharing.If you want to see or hear it,then you have to go through the correct route,to protect the interest of yours and the people involve in producing the movies or songs as well. Its all for your own good.

When animals are getting out of control, what should we do...

Im sure you have heard many stories about animals extinction before but I dont think many have heard stories about over population from animals before.Just a few months ago,I heard the story about how Africa is planning to kill the elephants there due to its over population and their disability to control it.But Im not focusing on that story.I want to talk about recent news about the Australian government which is planning to slaughter 400 of its kangaroos because they are 'ruining the habitat of rare lizards and insects.'

Now I ask you,is such decision fair? For me,I dont think so.OK,I understand sometimes animals can be a nuisance to other animal species, but I guess thats natural. However,I dont find any justice is killing the kangeroos to eradicate the problem, its cruel and its unfair. The scientists point out that eastern gray kangaroos are abundant and they are destroying the native grassland of threatened species such as the grassland earless dragon, striped legless lizard, golden sun moth and perunga grasshopper. So these are threatened species and therefore need to be protected, but if you are going to kill the kangaroos, than sooner or later, the kangaroos itself will be threatened too.Lets take the human logic for example. If a country is over populated, you will definitely need to use more resource right? But you dont kill the people to reduce the severity of the problem right? You find other ways to help to cope with the problem like encouraging families to have less children or something, but of course, you cant ask the kangaroos or any animals for that matter to produce less babies. There must be other ways to deal with the problems but killing them is not one of them I think.

Fortunately, there are some protesters in Australia that are protesting and vowing to stop government contractors from entering the Kangaroos territories and killing the eastern gray kangaroos as well as triggering international protests by animal rights activists. The Australian government however, citing possible danger to the public, does not plan to shoot the animals. The contractors will instead fire darts to tranquilize them before administering lethal injections.Well on a positive side of thing, the Kangaroos will have a peaceful death but on a negative side of thing, they will still die nevertheless,so why go all the way to trouble yourself. If you want to kill it,just kill it.Not that I am asking them to kill the kangaroos.Australia's Defense Department has not told the date about the culling, but if reports are to be believe,it could begin in the upcoming days.

I am an animal lover.I hope the Australian government will reconsider its plan of killing the kangaroos. They are such a beautiful animal, therefore they should not get rid of them just like that.Im sure there is a way that the kangaroos and the lizards or insects can co-exist peacefully. It would be really really sad if the government goes on with their plan. Here hoping for a good news in the upcoming days.

Ledger's death wont affect Joker's role in new movie...

If you are a Batman fan or Heath Ledger fan in particular,Im sure you have heard the sad news some months ago.Im talking about Heath Ledger shocking death of course. His next big movie is of course will be in the new Batman movie,'The Dark Knight' where he plays the role of Joker. Many fans have been speculating on whether the movie will distort his role in the movie due to his death, but thats not going to be the case fortunately according to the director Christopher Nolan.

Theater owners in America was being given a short preview on the sequel to 2005's Batman Begins on Thursday, with a clip showing the new movie's opening sequence.Unlike the last Batman-Joker movie, where Jack Nicholson played the role of the Joker, there's no vat of chemicals to explain how Batman's greatest enemy came to be the twisted sociopath known as the Joker.Instead in the new movie,it starts right in with the bad guy in all his psychopathic glory. And of course like Ive said earlier, there had been speculation among critics and fans that the studio and filmmakers might take a different approach to selling the film in light of Ledger's death, but the marketing has gone on as originally planned and I think this is the right decision to make.I completely agree with Chris Nolan when he said that "if you try to honor somebody, you honor them by respecting their work and putting it out there for as many people to see." Well said.

But watching the movie is going to be a different feeling Im sure regardless of whether there was going to be any change or not.I was really shock when I heard about the news of his death.Apparently,it was due to drug overdose or something.Ive seen the trailer, and he looks impressive in the role. Many people have been comparing who is the best Joker, him or Nicholson, but I dont think its fair to compare the both of them when you only watch some clips of Ledger's performance but whatever it is,Im sure its just going to be just as good.I enjoy the first Joker and I think I will enjoy the new one as well, however sad it might be.Its great to hear that nothing is going to change, the movie will be out in theaters July 18,so thats about four more months to go.Ive been waiting for this since 2005,its getting closer and closer I cant wait.

Rain and more rain....whats happening?

As you would have notice,it has been raining heavily in the past few days. Some of you are complaining while some are enjoying the cold weather. But whatever it is,Im sure you want to know the reason behind it.No it is not due to global warming, but it is due to a phenomenon known as Equinox.

So what the heck is Equinox you may wonder? Well,it simply occurs when the centre of the Sun is directly above the Earth's equator. This happens twice a year during March and October, which happen to be the two months which Singapore always experience hot weather.Im not creating stories up.This is all from the weather agency yeah. The main culprit according to them is the natural climate cycle,La Nina.Im sure it is not the first time you have heard the word before. It is stronger this year due to a 2-degree Celsius drop in sea surface temperature, causing the wind to bring rain clouds to Southeast Asia. And as you have study in your primary school science, when there are rain clouds,of course there is rain! It hasnt been raining today (Friday) however this morning till the time Im posting this of course, how interesting, but nevertheless, the weatherman says the next few days are expected to be rainy.

So if you are planning to go out, please remember to bring your umbrella.I dont think this weekend would be the perfect time to go picnic by the beach.Ive got a chalet to attend next week, hopefully it doesnt rain! If not,we are going to have to do the BBQ indoors.I dont know if they let us to do such thing but Im sure if we all do it secretly, nobody will find out unless they have water sprinklers in the chalet itself.Till then, take care, dont play in the rain or you will catch a cold or a fever, unless you are an idiot of course who love being sick.

David Hernandez voted out of Idol...

If you watch the American Idol, then you probably knew who has been voted out.I didnt expect it but the person who was voted out in yesterday's show was David Hernandez and I find it quite shocking actually, not that Im a fan of his.His performance on Tuesday was OK I think, but the judges didnt like it at all,but there was some performance that was even worse.

The bottom 3 for this week was David Hernandez,Kristy Lee Cook and Syesha Mercado. For me,America got it wrong well at least for Kristy and David.I thought Syesha did well, and Jason Castro should be one of the bottom 3 yesterday for his weak performance the day before. But after seeing all the performance, that was no doubt on my mind that Kristy would be the one to be eliminated because her performance the day before was,'horrendous' like Simon said.Yes Simon did ask her to sing country songs, but it just didnt work for her when she did it.It was for me,the worst performance of the night. So when Ryan told her she was in the bottom 3,I was not surprise and I thought that Ramiele was going to be in the bottom 3 as well, but David got the final spot.Bad decision by America.David was at least good enough to make it to next week show but anyway,it doesnt matter.Everything is done.

Whether it was David or Kristy going home this week or next week it doesnt really matter because Im not a fan of both of them.I am of course supporting for David Archuleta because I strongly believe he has the strongest vocals,or one of the strongest vocals in the show. The first time I saw him during audition week,I was really impressed by him,and then he continued his good form in the Top 24 shows, but this week,it was disappointing. He forgot his lyrics, his notes was all over, and he deserve to go out if it was base on this week performance alone but America did the right decision by keeping him in the competition.I dont really like his last 2 performance,so I expect something better next week.

This season American Idol probably have the most strongest vocals in all of the contestants, well they always say that every season dont they? But i really believe that is the case this season.Oh before I end,I would like to say I love the new set very much, the lights, the stage everything is nice and I dont know what happen to Ryan this season. He seem a little bit wild sometimes, whether the producers ask him to act that way or not,I have no idea.I guess thats about it.The competition is just going to get tougher and tougher, lets hope David Archuleta can hold his nerves and make it all the way to the finals.

US student suspended for bringing candy to school...

I dont know if you have heard this news before but in case you havnt,I just want to share with you because it is such a ridiculous news,in a funny way as well.It happen quite recently at a school in the US.It is about an eighth-grade honors student, who was suspended for a day,and barred from attending an honors dinner and stripped of his title as class vice president after he was caught with contraband candy! Well it was Skittles to be precise.

Why you may ask? It is because his school has banned candy sales in 2003 as part of a districtwide school wellness policy, according to a school spokeswoman.Unbelievable.I understand the school has the interest of the students well being but I think there are many other ways, appropriate ways to deal with the situation.I dont think the selling of candy is a serious issue.I know my secondary school did some changes to the food from the canteen, like asking the canteen vendors to sell more healthy foods, but not until they ban the selling of candy or eating it,as long as you dont litter the school premises. But anyway, after the students parent went to talk to the principal about the suspension, the school has decided to give back his student council post back. They cant possibly cancel the suspension decision because it was only for one day.She also said that she should have reinforced in writing the verbal warnings against candy transactions. The student of course said later that he didnt know about the ban,but he admitted that the student selling the candy was secretive.Whether he really didnt know about it,Im not sure.

Well there you go.The story about how a student got suspended because he bought candy in his school. The principal didnt said anything about taking down the ban,so I guess the ban will still be reinforce.Im glad I am not schooling there or I will not be able to eat candies in school and I hope that the schools here will not introduce the same ban as well or there will be no more sharing of candies in the class.

Spitzer Sex Scandal...

When Eliot Spitzer took the oath of office to become the New York governor 16 months ago,no one had expected that he would be involve in a sex scandal. Why not? Its because Spitzer was a man who built his political legacy on rooting out corruption, including several headline makingbattles with Wall Street while serving as attorney general.Everything was going very well for him, well that is before everyone knew about his sex scandal.

Last Monday, the bubble had burst for him.He was found out to have been hiring prostitutes several time over his time as the N.Y governor. It all began when New York's North Fork Bank notified the Treasury Department about suspicious transfers of money from Spitzer's bank accounts. That investigation led agents to the alleged organizers of the prostitution ring, four of whom were charged in a criminal complaint last week.Spitzer is reportedly used call-girl services 8 times and have paid about $80,000 if Im not mistaken for her services. The identity of the prostitute that he hired, has today been revealed. Her undercover name was Kristen, but her real name is Ashley Alexandra Dupre. She is 22 years old,Ive seen her photo already, and she is beautiful,so I dont think you can blame Spitzer for having to do such thing, but again,he is a public figure he should know best.Since the revelations, many have demanded Spitzer to step down, and he did just that yesterday, announcing his resignation which will take effect from next Monday. So what is his situation now? Well, his resignation is unlikely to affect decisions about whether he will face prosecution, and His attorneys were negotiating Wednesday with the U.S. attorney's office in New York in an effort to avoid criminal charges. He also could face charges related to the Mann Act,which makes it a federal offense to transport someone across state lines for the purpose of prostitution. So there are still many things to be sorted out.

I was quite shock to be honest when I heard this news because I thought Mr Spitzer was one of the good guys who could not possibly get involve in such incident, and I think many people did feel the same way as well.He definitely have disappointed a lot of people but its stupidity on his part.He has everything going well for him and then boom! Everything went down just like that in an instant. What a shame, but like he have said before,he should be responsible for his own action. He should know well that being a high profile public figure in America, there will always be eyes on you like the Paparazi have on Britney Spears, well actually, not until that bad and after what had happen to many government officials before,he should know what to do and not to do.But everything has happen. Its going to be one hell of a time for Spitzer in the coming weeks head Im sure.

Mississippi win for Obama....

There was only one state up competing today in the never ending US presidential race on the Democratic side between,Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and it was the Mississippi state. It had 33 pledged delegates up for grabs, which will be allocated proportionally and the winner is none other than my man,Barack Obama.Returns from 80 percent of Mississippi's precincts showed Obama gaining 59 percent,to 39 percent for Clinton.

The interesting thing about todays poll was that race played an important issue with many African Americans opting to go with Obama while many White Americans prefer Hillary. They went for him over Clinton 91-9 percent while the percentage for the whites vote for Hillary against Obama was 72 percent to 21 percent.Obama also finished first in the Texas Democratic caucuses. The caucuses were held last week, but the race was not called until Tuesday night.Obama will get more delegates out of the state than Clinton, who won the state's primary.Under the Texas Democratic Party's complex delegate selection plan,Texas voters participated in both a primary and caucuses last week.

So whats the number of delegates now? Well, the latest estimate shows that Obama is still leading of course, with 1,608 delegates to 1,478 delegates for Clinton. It takes 2,025 to win the nomination, but as you know, whatever the result is in the remaining primaries, neither one of the candidates will be able to clinch the nomination, even if Florida or Michigan is being brought back into the frame because the race is so close. That is of course when the superdelegates come in.Obama might be leading Clinton in the number of pledged delegates, but Clinton is leading him in the number of superdelegates by 247 to Obama's 211,according to the Associated Press. But Im just going to focus on the upcoming primaries for now.

Next up is the delegates-rich state of Penssylvania which is 6 weeks away,on the 22nd of April.Im sure we will know more about the state of Florida and Michigan by then, about whether there will be a redo or not.But for now,the battle shall continue on.Six weeks is still a long way to go,so expect some bash talk among the two candidates as America continue to decide who will be the best person to lead the country.

Mancini quitting Inter!

I woke up this morning, disappointed to hear that another one of my favourite team,Inter Milan has been dumped out of the Champions League after losing 1-0 to Liverpool with an aggregate score of 3-0 in both legs going to Liverpool favour. And to add to the disappointing news,I read that Inter Milan manager,Roberto Mancini will quit the team at the end of the season.

Its sad.I wont talk about the Champions League game, because its all over now, well done to Liverpool, wish them the best of luck but Mancini quitting is even more disappointing because I think he has done a great job, well results speaks for itself. We were the Serie A champion last season and we are looking like we are on our way of defending it this season and we are still undefeated as well.So results speak for itself,Mancini is doing a good job both in the league and the respective cups competition, but its a different situation as far as European football is concern.Although he has said that his decision to quit was not base on yesterdays result,I believe it has something to do with it.I think he is thinking that he has taken Inter as far as he could go and it would be the perfect time to hand over the club to someone else who could even achieve better success than he did.Im talking about winning the Champions League of course.

Mancini still have four years to run on his contract,a lot of time,so it kind of baffle me why he decided to quit so soon.Im sure he will not have any difficulties finding a new club to manage after this season have ended. As for who might replace him,it could be the 'Special One' Jose Mourinho because he has said that he wish to coach in Italy or Spain before returning to England and I think starting with Inter would not be a bad thing right.I mean we have good players, good foundations, probably going to be in the Champions League again next season.Jose has said last week that he would love to play and 'kill' his old club Chelsea in the Champions League some day and I think Inter would be the perfect opportunity for him to do that.Anyway, any talk about a new manager can wait till next season.

Serie A,the name of the Italian league,is still not over.It still have about 2 more months or so left in it.Although we are in the first place,Roma is not far behind and can still catch up.It would be good if we can end the season by winning the league again,to give Mancini a tribute for his hard work and I think fittingly for his farewell.Till then, enjoy the remaining matches of the season and FORZA INTER!
