My movie review for 'The Great Debaters'

Ok guys,Ive just recently finished watching the movie,'The Great Debaters'.I dont know if you have heard it before because it hasnt got a lot of coverage here, but its already out in cinemas here. The movie stars include one of my favourite actor,Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker. Not many big names but I can assure you its a good movie. So what is the movie all about you may ask? There may be spoilers though I might warn you.

Well its about a group of debaters from Wiley College who participated in many debates. At first, they wasnt a college that is well known for having a good reputation for debates but as the movie goes, you can see how their determination have able to inspire them to achieve something that they never thought they would.Denzel Washington is not one of the debaters, but he plays the role of Melvin B.Tolson, their debate coach.Unfortunately, his outside college activities have affected the team in someway, you have to see it to know what Im trying to say.But nevertheless, despite all the odd going against them, the debate team from Wiley College, like I said earlier, still manage to achieve a great result at the end of the movie.Actually it was predictable before the ending, but still its worth watching it.

This movie is actually being directed by Denzel himself.I dont know whether this was the first movie he has ever directed, but he did a great job nevertheless.Expect more movies being directed by him in the future. But whether he is the director or not,you know you expect something great in every of his movie. This movie was also being inspired by a true story back in the 1930s.If you are someone who like to be inspired, love debates, are a Denzel Washington fan like me,and you should watch this movie.Out of 5 stars,I rate this movie 3 1/2.It is worth the money you are paying for, theres not many good movie at the moment,so why not watch it.Till then,Im off to catch a new movie. If you want to see the trailer, you may visit the official website of the movie at http://www.thegreatdebatersmovie.com/

So who's the big winner in this year Oscars?

Today was the day of the 80th Annual Academy Awards and for me personally,it was a disappointment because most of my favourites didnt win.But anyway,Im going to talk about it still. The event was hosted by funny man Jon Stewart.Im not exactly a big fan of his but I try to follow his own talkshow,'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart' on CNN when I have the time, and I have to admit,he is really funny, whether its because its all scripted I dont know, but who cares.I thought he did a good job hosting the show as well.

But now to the important part, who was the winner.Well the big winner for this year was the violent thriller,'No Country For Old Men' starring Tommy Lee Jones. It scooped four Oscars including best director for brothers Joel and Ethan Coen, best adapted screenplay and best supporting actor for Javier Bardem.Of course it also won the big prize for the night which is the best picture, beating the likes of "Atonement","Juno","There Will Be Blood" and my personal favourtie,"Michael Clayton".I dont know much about the movie 'No Country For Old Men' but Im sure its good since it won a lot of awards. Its out in the cinemas here already,I havnt got the time to catch it,actually I wasnt interested to see it,but maybe I will after this.Any good movie is worth watching right? Another award that I was looking forward to was the best actor in the leading role where the winner was Daniel Day-Lewis for his performance in 'There Will Be Blood',beating the likes of my favourite actor George Clooney and Johnny Depp in the movie 'Michael Clayton' and 'Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street' respectively.Once again,I havnt watch the movie 'There Will Be Blood' yet,but Ive watched the other two and I thought both of them, especially Johnny Depp has a good chance of winning it,but of course he didnt. But credit to Daniel Day-Lewis,he is a great actor.

As for the women, the best actress in the leading role was won by France's Marion Cotillard in her role in the movie 'La Vie en Rose' whatever that is.Other nominess included Cate Blanchett in the movie 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age' and Ellen Page in 'Juno'.For me,I was disappointed not to see George Clooney or Johnny Depp winning but at least their movie has won at least one award during the night.Tilda Swinton won the best actress in a supporting role while the best art direction film award was won by the 'Sweeney Todd movie'.I was also pleased to see other of my favourite actors,Harrison Ford and a bald and new look Denzel Washington presenting an award. Both of them are legends, unfortunately, they wasnt nominated for any award for the night, maybe next year.

Once again, congratulation to all the award winners.Winning the Oscar is never an easy thing especially with this time round, there was a lot of great nominations. As for those who went home empty handed, there will always be next year.It has been a great 80th Academy Awards,Im really looking forward to the next one but for now,I shall continue going to the cinemas to watch the latest Hollywood movies because there are lot of great movies yet to be shown this year,so stay tune. For full result of the Oscar, you may want to visit their official website at http://www.oscar.com/

The Singapore Airshow....My review...

Alright lads, yesterday,I went to the Singapore Airshow, the largest airshow in Asia and the 3rd largest in the world.Ive posted some photos I took yesterday up here.I have never been to any airshow before, well actually I did once, but that was during the SAF Open House a couple of years ago or last year I cant really remember, showcasing only military aircrafts unlike the airshow I went to yesterday which includes both military and commercial aircraft. The open house was free for the public while the Singapore Airshow we had to pay $20 for adults and $8 for children. So was it worth it?

For $20,I certainly think it was worth it with the aerial display included but unfortunately I didnt managed to catch it because I arrived there late.I went out at about 11am,took a taxi to the Pasir Ris Interchange where they provide free shuttle bus to the brand new Changi Exhibition Centre, and it was damn huge I have to say.So I reach at the interchange at around 11.30 am and I was shocked to see the queue was so damn long,I cant describe how long it is here because it is very difficult,so no choice, have to queue up as well and it took me almost 1 1/2 hours before I finally boarded the shuttle bus.And by the time I reach there,it was 2 plus, the aerial display was over,I dont know why they only did it once, they should do it twice.Actually if you only want to see the aerial display, you dont have to buy a ticket to the airshow, just go to the changi beach, and Im sure you will get to watch it for free.Of course I was disappointed to miss out on watching the Black Knights on display, but I got a glimpse of the pilots,in their vans heading in the same direction as the shuttle bus I was riding on,probably they have just went for their lunch and are heading back to the airport for some unfinished business.I thought they was going to do another show, but of course they didnt.

The trip took about 2o mins, and then we had to wait for quite some time at the registration center, where they security check was being delayed for quite a while because of some stupid congestion. But once all the security checks have finished,I quickly went to the exhibition site and it was amazing. All the military and commercial vehicles and planes were being displayed outside while inside the air condition hall, there was various booths showing the different models and engines of their respective companies. But the thing that I was really looking forward to was the Airbus 380,the biggest plane in the world.Of course Ive seen it on the TV,but you have to see it up close to see how big it really is! I took many pictures of it,I just couldnt get enough of it.It was simply magnificent.I was disappointed to see that it was the only commercial plane on display, the others was the military jets but there was some private jets as well.Everything was so beautiful I wish the airshow could be held everyday but of course thats not possible. Then it was time to go home,it was about 5.30pm,took the shuttle bus back to Pasir Ris Interchange, grab a bite at WhiteSands and then went home.My legs were aching so badly yesterday,Im glad I feel better now.

Apart from the long wait,I think it was worth going to.How many times do you get to see the A380 up close? I know you might say by going to the airport, but if you went to Airshow, you can get to see it even closer,no glass wall whatsoever.I cant wait to see the Dreamliner next.My mum who was with me yesterday told me that she is not going to go to any airshows anymore, understandable,so I probably going to have to go on my own next year,if they still organise it,I hope they does. The event ends today until 5pm.If you went to the airshow as well, please share with me your experience because I would love to hear from you.

Obama and Clinton face off in Texas debate...

It was the final debate for the two Democrats presidential hopeful today and it was once again,a rather civil one, like their last debate, only this time there was some heated moment between the both of them in particular when the healthcare issue was mention. Both candidates questioned each other's policy for healthcare and when Obama was asked about his recent speech in which he used the same phrase that has been used before by other senators with Hillary Clinton ridiculed him as the candidate of "change you can Xerox."

Now,I dont know what Hillary meant by that,I know Xerox is some kind of a camera brand or something, but Im sure whatever she is trying to say,it wasnt good.Interestingly, when she said that, the crowd started to boo and when Obama dismissed the charge out of hand, the crowd started to turn the jeers to applause when he countered, "What we shouldn't be spending time doing is tearing each other down.We should be spending time lifting the country up."I guess there are more Obama fans than Clinton fans in the room.Other than that, they talk about issues like immigration, national security and war in Iraq but apart from disagreement here and there, there was nothing serious to talk about really. The next round of contest will be happening on 4th of March where big states like Texas and Ohio are up for grabs. Its a must win situation for Hillary now because Obama is slowly but surely getting away up front from her, which is good for me,being an Obama fan.

The debate was sponsored by CNN,Univision and the Texas Democratic Party. If you missed it and want to catch it,do check out CNN schedule of when they are repeating it.If not then I shall see you again after March 4th where I hope Obama will do his magic once again.

We finally did it!

If you are a Singaporean, then Im sure you have heard the good news yesterday unless you are someone who doesnt care about what is happening here.Anyway,if you still havnt heard it,the good news yesterday was that we have beaten Moscow to be the host city for the first ever,Youth Olympics Games! How cool is that. The announcement was made at around 7.20 pm local time yesterday and my heart was beating very fast in anticipation of the winning city and when IOC President Jacques Rogge said the winner was 'Singapore',I was overjoyed, and Im sure you did feel the same way too.

It might not be as big as the main Olympics games, but still, its part of the Olympic, something that is well respected and I think we can have every reason to be proud of the result. We have put in a lot of effort in the bid,and it has paid off.Well done to the organising committee for puting up a great bid.Beating 7 other world class cities, and not to mention Moscow in the final two is a fantastic result in my opinion. The exact number of votes received by both cities was Singapore winning it by 53 votes to 44.That is very close indeed.I guess if we cannot host the main Olympics, and since we have only won one Olympic medal in our history, which is back in 1960s if Im not wrong, hosting the YOG would not be that bad afterall.

Now thats the bidding and planning is all done and dusted,it now comes to delivering the deal, which would be a much tougher task but Im sure we are able to do it.I cant wait for 2010 when we welcome the Youth of the world to this beautiful city of ours and give them something to remember about after the event has ended.Singapore awaits you.But for now, lets all look forward to the upcoming Beijing Olympics later this year and hope we can win some medal, whether its bronze, silver or gold, because that would be a great way to start our organisation for the YOG in 2010.

Will S'pore be hosting the Youth Olympic Games in 2010?

After long months of planning and work to host the first ever Youth Olympic Games in 2010,it has come to this moment, yes today will be the day where we will get to know whether it is going to be us or Moscow who is going to win the bid to host the YOG.

So what are the chances of us winning the bid? Well,I dont really know actually because we do not have a rich history in hosting major sports events, nor do we have athletes who are world reknown, unlike Moscow,or Russia in particular.Moscow hosted the 1980 Olympics and Russia's Black Sea resort of Sochi was picked last year to stage the 2014 Winter Games. But we all know that Singapore has the potential to whole world class event,we have demonstrated that before in business like events, but never a sport event, maybe not considering we have hosted the SEA Games before a long time ago,I cant remember, and I believe we was suppose to be the host for the recent SEA Games in Bangkok but we turn down the offer due to some reason I cant remember. The other thing that might be a disadvantage for us is our small land space. But as the old saying goes,'Size doesnt necessarily matter' and I agree with that.If we got all the facilities available and can offer them a good time, size should be the least of our concern.Another factor that could be a cause is the weather here. Its hot and humid unlike the cold weather in Moscow. Many people say that the weather here could cause some problems for the atheletes, but I think that is a problem which all atheletes should be able to cope with.I mean you cant just be able to play well in cold weather and not in hot weather. If they can handle the heat, then I think they can play in any conditions.

The Youth Olympics will feature about 3,500 athletes aged 14-18 competing in 26 sports. The event,to be held every four years,is designed to encourage youngsters to get involved in sports and spend less time in front of computer and television screens.Moscow is underwriting a Games budget of US$180 million compared to $75 million for Singapore, but again, more money doesnt mean you will win.Im really hoping Singapore will win the bid,we have put so much effort in our plans and I hope the IOC will be impress by it and have voted in our favor. But if Moscow wins it,I think we should not be very disappointed because to be the final 2 cities is already a big deal, but of course, since we are here already, lets go all the way.If you want to join the announcement with the public, you may head down to Padang later today. The announcement will be made live by IOC president Jacques Rogge from Olympic Museum in Lausanne. You are encourage to wear red if youre coming down and rest assured, the celebrations will still go on regardless of what the result is.If you are lazy to go down, you can catch it live on ChannelNewsAsia later. For now, lets just hope for the best!

Obama's on a winning streak!

Alright guys,Im back blogging after some days away due to some personal problems that had to be sorted out.But anyway,in this post,Im going to talk about the latest round of contest in the on going US presidential race.Last Tuesday, another 3 state was being contested namely,Wisconsin,Hawaii and Washington. The Democrats didnt particpate in the Washington state as they have already done so,while the Republicans didnt participate in Hawaii.

For the democrats,it was once again my man,Barack Obama who won the contesting states once again, making it 10 wins in the last 10 rounds of contest, which means Hillary didnt win anything in the last 10 contesting states. The interesting news about his win in Wisconsin is that Obama has steadily been chipping away Clinton's base of blue-collar,older,working-class voters, which is great because it means more and more Clinton supporters are now starting to support Obama! The contest in Wisconsin was actually thought to be a close one to call but not surprisingly to me,Barack Obama won it so easily.Obama also scored a projected win in the Hawaii Democratic caucuses, the state where he was born and still has family. There were 20 delegates at stake in that race.So after this round, you might be wondering how much delegates have both of them gotten.Well of course, before Tuesday,Obama was leading Hillary in the number of pledged delegates after after Tuesday,he still is.The latest number shows that Obama has 1,315 delegates to Clinton's 1,245.It is still a slight lead over Hillary but the contest have not ended, theres still some way to go and anything can happen.

On the Republican side, well nothing surprising and nothing new to tell you.John McCain won the Republican primary in Wisconsin and the remaining half of Washington state's delegates in the primary. However,he still can't convince conservatives to line up behind his candidacy. While McCain won convincingly over former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee in Wisconsin, half of the voters in the state who called themselves "very conservative" favored Huckabee, compared to 40 percent for McCain. That is still a huge margin, but speaking of huge, the result has left Huckabee with a bigger mountain to climb. He may still have the support from the conservative, but McCain has the support of the Americans majority, and it looks likely he is going to be the Republican nominee. He has not achieve the required number of delegates to clinch the nominee position, but he is getting closer and closer. With Tuesday's round done and dusted,we will next move on to the big state of Texas,Ohio and Pennsylvania where it has now become a must win state for Hillary if he wants to have any chance of becoming the Democrats nominee. If Obama wins it,then I think we can finally assume that he is going to be the nominee. Its as simple as that. But recent polls have shown that both of them are still very close to each other, but polls means nothing in the election.

I certainly cant wait for March 4.It is going to be a huge and important day for both of them, especially Clinton, she cant afford to lose, but of course being an Obama fan,I would love to see it happening.Everything is happening so quickly, you just cant stop.Just when you think you are ahead, something happen, you fall back down and you have to work your way up again, such is the case on the Democrat side.Just for your information, there will be another debate for the two Democrats candidates happening tomorrow and you can catch it on my favourite news channel CNN,starting from 9 am.Their last debate was rather civil, but with the stakes so high at the moment,I dont expect the same thing to happen now.

Should stewardesses serve the husband or the wife first?

After reading the Sunday Times today about an incident last year, where a women slapped a flight stewardess, from our own Singapore Airlines, just because she served the women's husband first, and then went on asked her loudly why she is talking to her husband,it has come to my attention that this issue needs to have a serious look at.I find this news really interesting.
I think if any women is talking to someone husbands, not just the stewardess, the wife would probably get jealous easily. But I think when you are on a plane,it is not right to think that the stewardess is trying to do something fishy just because she is talking to your husband or just because she is serving your husband first instead of yourself.I dont know what will the men think of the situation, but I think its outrageous for the wife to get jealous for no reason.Ok,the least you could do is to raise your voice, but to slap the stewardess,I think that is over the limit, unless of course you are completely sure that the stewardess is doing something that you dont really like.If the stewardess only ask,'Would you like coffee or tea' or something like that, there is no problem whatsoever. The incident have of course caused some uncertainty over how they should conduct themselves when dealing with a male passenger with their wife. Many of them has said that they would be serving the lady first before the man,and I believe that is the best thing to do,better play safe than to be sorry. However,if the man was the one who start the conversation first with the stewardess,Im referring to silly conversations of course, then I believe the women should blame the husband instead of the stewardess.

The stewardess who was slapped has sue the women for 'emotional and mental distress' and the case is still in the court.I dont know which side I should support because I dont really know how the stewardess interact with the husband of the women, because if there are clear evidence that she is trying to do something funny, then of course the women have every reason to be angry, but at the same time,I think slapping the stewardess was unneccessary.Hopefully everything will be settle in an amicable manner and hopefully we will never hear of such incident again. The women who slapped the stewardess by the way is a Singaporean,if she was foreigner, then I think this would be a more serious issue.I would love to hear your views on this? Do you think the women was right to slap the stewardess? And what way do you think should the stewardess practise when dealing with male passenger with his companion.Till next time, take care.

Great news to tell you...

Hi there.Ive got a great piece of news that I would like to tell you.If you are a fan of The Amazing Race Asia,I believe you would have known that our boys,Colin and Adrian have won the competition which is really fantastic! For those of you who dont subscribe to the cable vision, you are unable to watch it as Mediacorp dont have the rights to telecast it.
Anyway, the final three teams, was Colin and Adrian from Singapore,Marc and Rovilson from the Philippines as well as Pamela and Vanessa from Malaysia, and what a final it was.It was a close finish indeed. If the winners of the competition was decided based on the numbers of legs won, then Marc and Rovilson would have won it undoubtedly, but unfortunately for them and fortunately for me,it doesnt go that way and each leg of the race must be won by itself.Throughout the entire race,Marc and Rovilson was always on top and Colin and Adrian was always coming closely behind,so I was hoping for a change of fortune in the last leg of the race. When they didnt ask their taxi to wait for them at the Raffles Statue,I was really angry and I thought,'Well, thats the end,its over for them' because they were the last team to reach to the destination for their next and last challenge for the race which is to place the flags of the countries according to the country that they visited first. And even though Marc and Rovilson reached there first,Rovilson, who took the Roadblock struggle badly,so was Vanessa. But when Adrian took the Roadblock,he was superquick and he got it right just by doing it once! How amazing! They were followed by Pam and Vanessa and then Marc and Rovilson, and who else could finish the competition in first place if it wasnt Colin and Adrian! Pam and Vanessa took second spot while the Phillipinos boys took third.

You couldnt tell how happy and proud I was the moment they step on the mat.I was over joy really. Why? Because obviously, they are from Singapore and theres nothing sweeter than to win by coming back from behind. And also, they was the only Singapore team in the race, some other team have two representative from countries like Japan and Phillpines, but of course this competition is not about national pride but I still take it that way. They won US $100,000,how cool is that. But credit to the other two teams as well for making it to the final three, especially Marc and Rovilson. It have to be very heartbreaking for them for not winning just because of one Roadblock, but hey, thats how The Amazing Race is,sometimes its all down to luck.Season 2 has been great. If you are interested to join the show, they are already calling for interested participant for the upcoming Season 3.You must of course be at least the age of 21 to join.If I was,I would already registered for it.But anyway,Season 3 is still a long time to go.Right now,let us just celebrate the victory of our Singapore boys. They made us proud.Well done guys!

Romney endorses McCain...

Some update to tell you regarding the ongoing US presidential race.Mitt Romney,a former presidential hopeful who quit after his disappointing Super Tuesday result, have decided to endorse fellow Republican, and his former rival,John McCain to be the Republican nominee for the President. If you could remember in one of my previous post about Romney quitting the race,I told you that he might not be endorsing anyone,or he could be endorsing Huckabee, but of course I was wrong on both occassions.
According to Romney,McCain is 'a man capable of leading our country in this dangerous hour' as well as a 'true American hero'.The reason for his decision to endorse McCain? There was many actually. One of them was the involvement of John Weaver, who was McCain's top political strategist until he was forced out in a campaign shakeup last summer.According to several sources familiar with the talks,Weaver got involved with the blessing, indeed at the urging,of two current top McCain advisers,Charlie Black and Steve Schmidt. Both were aware of Weaver's friendship and past working relationship with Romney campaign manager Beth Myers. Weaver and Myers worked together on a Texas campaign and at the Texas Republican party back in the 1980s and have remained good friends.According to sources in both the Romney and McCain camps,Weaver made contact with Myers last week to initiate talks aimed at winning Romney's endorsement and an urging from him that his delegates rally to McCain's candidacy.Another reason is because Romney also wants to help McCain move faster to "secure the nomination and unite the party for the general election against the Democrats for November."

In another boost for McCain,Romney will "release" his delegates to McCain, meaning he will encourage them to get behind McCain's candidacy.Romney had collected 286 delegates before he suspended his campaign two weeks ago. Those delegates would give McCain 1,013 total delegates,78 short of securing the nomination,so that means Huckabee will be trailing even far behind, which is bad for me.On the other side of the race,Hillary Clinton have won the polls in New Mexico, but I believe Obama is still in the lead in the number of delegates.I think todays announcement will be a huge boost to McCain and a huge blow to Huckabee.I think its certain to say that McCain will win the Republican side of the race for sure, but Im still hoping for a miracle to happen. As much as I was disappointed with Romney decision,I thought he did the right thing and decided on the best option for the party, and not for himself. The race is not over yet though. It shall continue next Tuesday.Till then, take care folks.

Its the season of love...

Time to take a break of all the political stuff that has been happening around lately, and talk about something that is much calmer and much romantic.Today is the 14th of February, and as you know it is the day we know as the Valentine's Day,where we shower our loved ones with presents lie candy, flowers, and gifts, and if youre lucky, your couple, usually the guy, will treat you to a romantic dinner at a beautiful restaurant.

Anyway,I believe that people know that 14 February is the Valentine's Day but I dont think many would know the history behind it and why is it call Valentine's Day.We are celebrating it in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday? The history of Valentine's Day and its patron saint is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance.St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. So,who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. There are many different stories of how Valentine may have been killed,I dont know which is true,so I wont tell you.But you might want to know that according to one legend,Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison,it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl, who may have been his jailor's daughter, who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today.Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages,Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

So there you go,a small history of the Valentine's Day.I think it is important for you to celebrate it,but at the same time, understand the reason behind the celebration, just like any of your other festive celebrations. If you are celebrating today, remember to have fun and most importantly,be romantic.Actually I think you should show the same love for your partner each and everyday, not just during Valentines Day,I leave it to you.If you are still single without anyone to celebrate it,dont be sad, because I think theres no reason to be sad at all.Our time will come sooner or later.Love is a thing that shoud not be rush,so take your time,if you are happy at being single like me for now, even better,we dont need to think about pleasing our couple all the time right? Anyway whatever it is,whether you are celebrating it or not,I just wish that you will have a great day and that you will continue to stay happy with your life, regardless of whether you are in a relationship or not.Happy Valentine's Day everyone! (Though I dont celebrate it even if I have a girlfriend)

Malaysia's PM dissolves Parliament...Call for early general elections

After months of uncertainty of whether the government will announced that the general elections will be held before the one due in mid 2009,Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi has finally announced that he would dissolve the parliament as of today to allow the elections to be held, ending months of speculation. Many people has expected that today would be the day he would announce it because it is the 13th of February, and he said it himself that 13 is his lucky number,so whether it will turn out to be lucky for him again,we just have to wait and see.

He actually said on the previous day that there would not be a dissolution today but of course, sometimes you cant trust everything that politicians say. However,Mr Abdullah doesnt expect a repeat of the 2004 landslide when the Barisan Nasional coalition (BN) seized some 90 percent of parliamentary seats and I think its obvious to see why.The situation in the country then and the situation now has a very vast difference.Things were much stable and calm back then but now,the tension among the people are much higher. The minority group in the country such as the Indians are complaining about them being discriminated,I think you could remember well the scene of protest from them late last year and many fear of rising inflation and crime rate in the country.Mr Abdullah said the Election Commission would decide on the polling date but voting must be held 60 days after parliament is dissolved. The government traditionally allows just a two-week campaign period, which would mean the ballot in early March.

I certainly cant wait to see what will happen next.Like Mr Abdullah has said,I dont expect his party to win big again this time round performance amid growing unease among ethnic Chinese and Indian minorities.A lot of unwanted things have happen over the years, and his popularity level has also dropped to a low of 60 percent, which I heard is the lowest rating he has ever got.60 percent might seem like a lot to you,but in Malaysia,it is considered to be very low interestingly. When he took over from PM Mahathir,I think expectations was very high on him,but I believe many Malaysians think that he hasnt deliver the goods I dont know because I dont follow Malaysia politics very much even though we are neighbour, but that is just the general feeling Im getting.Nevertheless,I think he has not done that bad,I think he is OK,but I believe he needs to do a lot of convincing to gain back the support from the people. Its going to be interesting to see what will happen in the next few weeks now.

*The report was taken from ChannelNewsAsia.

Big wins for Obama and McCain...

Another day,or night in America, and another set of polling result to tell you.Today's contesting states was Maryland,Virginia and the District of Columbia,or what they call the Potomac primaries. So who is the big winner for both party, who else could it be if it wasnt my man Barack Obama for the Democrat and the Republican 'frontrunner' John McCain.

After his strong performance at the weekend,Barack Obama continue his winning roll by sweeping all the contesting states today, and not only did he win it,but he did it in a convincing manner and one of the main group that voted for him today was the women.According to exit polls out of Virginia and Maryland,in both states Obama won roughly 60 percent of the female vote,a demographic that has carried Clinton to success in past primaries.Clinton meanwhile fared worse among men more than two-thirds in both states chose Obama. If Obama can have both the men and women supporting him from now on,then I think he is on the way of becoming the Democrat nominee.Meanwhile,Obama scored his highest percentage of African-American support to date, winning close to 90 percent of that voting bloc in each state.Who says race doesnt make a factor in this election, well for today at least it did.The two evenly split the white vote in Virginia, while Clinton slightly beat Obama among whites in Maryland.Today was also the day that we saw the Latino voters, who have gone in favour of Hillary in past primaries, had a change of view and decided on going with Obama. It was not much however, only 6 points seperate them in two of the states.

Lets turn our attention now to the Republican side of the race where we saw John McCain winning all the state today as well.McCain, who has come under criticism from conservatives who say he is too liberal to be the Republican nominee, carried the conservative vote in Maryland, according to exit polls. However,Huckabee fared better with the conservatives in Virginia, but still it wasnt enough to give him the win there.Although the result has left Huckabee with a big step to climb,he is still determine to stay on and continue to fight saying that he will never give up until anyone has secured the 1,191 delegates needed to become the Republican nominee, which is good because he is probably the only chance for me not to see McCain winning it.Of course there is still Ron Paul, but erm, lets just think he is out of the race for obvious reason.

It was great day today for me,because my man Barack Obama wins big once again. You might be wondering how many delegates do the candidate have after todays result.Well,Obama now has 1,208 delegates to Clinton's 1,185.But the magic number to clinch the Democratic nomination is 2,025 and Obama is slowly, but surely getting to that number which I believe he will despite Hillary saying that all this states that Obama is winning such as the caucuses and todays victory doesnt really matter to her because she thinks she is going to win the big prize coming up soon in Texas and Ohio on March 4.As for the republicans,I am pessimistic over Huckabee's chances of causing an upset in the upcoming contests but like he said,he believe in miracle and I surely does as well.Lets hope he can do it.Just hang on there Mike.Next round of the contest will be in Wisconsin and Washington, and Hawaii will hold its Democratic caucuses which will all be happening on next Tuesday. For now,let us Obamacans, thats what Obama call his fans, celebrate!YES WE CAN!

Yahoo rejects offer while Microsoft shoots back...

Alright people,Im sure you have heard about this news before. If you havnt, then Im going to tell you what is it all about.Computer giant Microsoft have recently launch a takeover bid for Internet giant Yahoo,a couple of weeks ago if Im not wrong. The offer is worth 44.6-billion-dollar.I know that is a lot of money and you might think Yahoo would accept it straightaway. However, with a takeover bid which has a magnitude as big as this one, nothing is straightforward.

The latest news from this saga is that Yahoo is rejecting the bid, saying that the bid is too low and not what's best for shareholders of the veteran Internet company.Yahoo issued a statement early in the day saying its board had decided "after careful evaluation" that Microsoft's bid "substantially undervalues Yahoo."As a result, the board "concluded that the proposal is not in the best interests of Yahoo and our stockholders," Yahoo said.Yahoo now,as you know is not having a good time.Yahoo announced it would lay off 1,000 employees by mid-February,it also reported lower fourth-quarter earnings last year and gave a 2008 revenue forecast that disappointed analysts. However,Yahoo still leads in online display advertising revenue and its various web sites are the most visited by U.S. Internet users, and No. 3 worldwide, according to tracking service ComScore. So popularity wise, they are still among the top but financially wise, they are not looking good.

Microsoft meanwhile called the Yahoo board action "unfortunate" and said the bid was "full and fair."And not surprisingly,Microsoft is not backing down and will continue its bid to takeover Yahoo and urged Yahoo to reconsider its blockbuster bid to combine the two tech titans and said it offers "superior value" to Yahoo shareholders.Even thought Yahoo has rejected the initial bid from Microsoft,it is still keeping any future bid options open whether it is from Microsoft or any other company saying,Yahoo "is continually evaluating all of its strategic options in the context of the rapidly evolving industry environment."Of course, the bid must be more than what Microsoft has offered. Now whether Microsoft will increase its offer is yet to be known, but many analyst are thinking that this is part of an effort by Yahoo to get a higher sales price from Microsoft and it certainly looks like it.Another internet giant,Google is of course not happy with Microsoft move and they have been very vocal about it.They has condemned Microsoft's effort as an attack on "the underlying principles of the Internet: openness and innovation." Whether you agree with them or not,or whether you think Google is feeling threaten by the move, you make your own decision. One thing for sure,I dont think they will be able to make a bid for rival Yahoo, but you never knows.

There however has been some report on Monday which says options being considerd by Yahoo now include merging with faded Internet star America Online (AOL),now owned by Time Warner. This is just rumour, theres nothing concrete about it.But if it is,then expect to see some interesting effect. For me,a move with Microsoft would be a great thing for Yahoo because right now, they are struggling and I think Microsoft would offer the helpline that they need, but again,I think Yahoo is a great company and they are able to solve the current crisis on their own.I really doubt that Google will make any move to buy Yahoo or any other company for that matter. So the most probable outcome next would be to see Microsoft raising their offer which I think they would,or decides to drop out.It should be interesting to see what action will Microsoft take next because clearly, the ball is in their hand.

Singapore's Budget to be announce soon...what are your expectations?

Hey people,as you know, the Singapore's Budget will be released soon,on this Friday in particular and unlike last year's budget, where the situation was much stable, this year will be a completely different story all together. Why? Because of rising concern of an economic recession in America, the world's largest economy and one of Singapore main source of revenue as well as the rising cost of oil around the world.

All this factors have caused a rise in the cost of living here, everything is rising, food, taxi fares,ERP charges, and even things that we want to get on a daily basis.People are complaining but I think at the same time, they have to understand that the government dont just raise the cost of things for fun,but for particular purpose. However,I believe the government will not raise the cost of things too much, but to a reasonable amount.Anyway back to the upcoming budget announcement, another key issue would be the widening income gaps.I think it is important that in times like these, the government should not forget about the less income families and the middle income families as well.I hope to see some plan on how the government will help to close the income gaps and what they have in plan in case there is a global recession, which I really hope not.Even if there is,I doubt it will be that serious such as the one in the past.

I would love to hear on your views about the upcoming budget announcement. What do you expect to hear from the government? Do you think we are ready to face another recession in the US? Do you expect the cost of things to go down once the uncertainty is gone? Do send me your comment as I would love from you.But for now,we shall wait till Friday to get a clearer picture of the government plans for the year ahead.Im not sure whether it will be telecast,it should be like in previous years probably on ChannelNewsAsia if you wish to watch it.

Obama did it again while Hillary reshuffle her team...

Alright just as I had expected,my man Barack Obama was victorious again this time in the Maine caucuses. With 70 percent of precincts reporting,Obama was leading Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York 58 percent to 41 percent according to my favourite news channel CNN,which means that it is enough to declare Obama the winner there, who also won all the other states that was contesting on Saturday, see my previous two post if you want to find out more.

After the weekends result,Barack Obama is now leading over Clinton in pledged delegates to the convention, but Clinton still held a narrow edge over Obama when "superdelegates",which is the elected officials and party leaders are included in the tally.Clinton has a 224-135 edge among superdelegates, which leaves her leading the Democratic race 1,139-1,106.After the dismal performance at the weekend, its no surprise that Hillary Clinton is reshuffling her team a little bit.She has replaced her campaign manager with a longtime adviser,Maggie Williams, the campaign announced on Sunday.

Its been a great weekend in the presidential race as far as Im concern.Obama sweeping all the contesting states, there is nothing greater than that.Whether it was because of the weekend result that Hillary decided to replace her campaign manager or whether it is because of other reason,I dont know. But one thing for sure, she is feeling the heat from Obama and he is fast catching up.The next contest will be held on Tuesday the District of Columbia,Maryland and in Virginia, and if you think it is going to end anytime soon, dont bet on it because I doubt it will! Lets hope my man Barack Obama will be able to perform well on Tuesday too because that would even be a bigger boost for his campaign.YES WE CAN!

Get ready to experience the ride of your life...

Thinking of travelling to Kuala Lumpur or London to take a ride on their giant ferris wheel or some call it the 'observation wheel'.Whatever it is,I think you know what I mean. Why waste your money to travel when you can take a ride right here in Singapore.I believe most of you have seen the observation wheel or as they call it here the 'Singapore Flyer'before, its so big,you cant miss it if you are travelling to the city unless you are blind of course.

Of course this is not the first time that it has ever been built, like I said, such observation wheel can be found in London and Kuala Lumpur. But it is of course the first in Singapore. It is certainly have been a very quick process to build it,even the general manager of the Singapore Flyer said that they are actually ahead of time, which is great because they can make more money and people can ride it soon! At 165 metres or 42-storey high, the Singapore Flyer will be 30 metres higher than Britain's London Eye,and making it the world's biggest observation wheel! How cool is that. But unfortunately, that term can only be use for probably the next 2 years as two more observation wheel will be build in Beijing and Berlin, also by the same company that has built our one and it is expected to be bigger and higher than the Singapore Flyer. But that makes us the worlds 3rd largest observation wheel, which isnt bad right?

The wheel will start twirling just before dusk Monday evening, organisers said, but unfortunately, only corporate clients are the group of people that will be riding on its very first ever round or its 'inaugural flight' as they call it.You may watch it however if you are taking a bus, taxi, cars or anything and travelling in that area.If you want to ride it,you have to wait for 1st March where it will be open to the public. Each ride will cost you a cheap,I think,$29.50 get a 360-degree view of up to 45 kilometres across the island republic and into neighbouring Malaysia and Indonesia on the 30-minute ride.Yes you get to see some glimpse of Malaysia and Indonesia, how cool is that. You cant experience that on the London Eye or the one in Malaysia, but dont expect to see the Twin Towers or anything.

So there you go,everything you need to know about our brand new attraction, the Singapore Flyer.I have waited for a very long time for the thing to start operating and I dont have to wait any longer now.My birthday is in March and its public opening in its March too.Couldnt get any better. So Im probably going to ask my mum to take me on a ride on the Singapore Flyer as my birthday gift.Im sure many of you are looking forward to riding on it as well, hopefully you will get your chance soon and hopefully you will enjoy yourself.Have a nice and safe ride.
For more information on the Singapore Flyer, you may want to visit its official website at http://www.singaporeflyer.com.sg/

Obama win big on Saturday while Huckabee battle through...

Obama for president!

Today was another day where we saw the elections going on in certain parts of United States and both Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee won big time.Obama made a clean sweep of all the states on offer,Louisiana,Nebraska and Washington on Saturday,as well as in the Virgin Islands. Huckabee meanwhile was victorious in Kansas and Louisiana, upsetting 'frontrunner' John McCain, and I would like to point out that the victory in Kansas was a very convincing one as well.He defeated McCain by nearly a 3-1 margin.

Despite those win however,I would like to point out that most of the states are caucuses, where Obama and Huckabee are expected to do well.If I am not mistaken,Lousiana was the only Primaries, but again, still impressive win from both of them, which makes me really happy,in particular because I am a Obama fan and I dont want to see McCain winning on the Republican side. Not because I think Obama wont be able to take him on should both of them win,but I think McCain is not fit enough to be the next president. So where does it leaves us after today's result.Well, according to the latest calculation by my favourite and number one news channel,CNN,Clinton has 1,100 delegates and Obama has 1,039.Its still close between the two of them and Clinton is still leading, but Obama is getting closer and closer each day.Come on Barack! As for the Republican, the same could not be said however.Despite the good showing today by Huckabee,he is still far back.McCain has a significant lead in the delegate count after Super Tuesday.Huckabee has 217 delegates to McCain's 714.Even if Huckabee wins every remaining state with 50 percent of the vote to McCain's 40 percent,McCain would still be the nominee. But Huckabee will not give up easily and he said he doesnt believe in the maths,he believe in miracles, and I agree with him.

Up next is the Maine Democratic caucuses where Obama is expected to win again, well I hope the predictions are right.Obama will have to win every state now if he wants to get even closer to Hillary, but of course saying that is easier than making it a possibility. As for Huckabee,I hope he can continue to stay and battle on as well because he is now my only hope of preventing McCain from becoming the Republican nominee. But for now,we shall all wait and see as America continue to find their next president which I believe in Barack Obama.YES WE CAN!

Ah Meng is gone forever...

Thumbs up for Ah Meng.We will miss you...

I think most of you have probably heard the sad news already yesterday on the news. But I didnt catch the news yesterday so I only knew the story today when I saw the headline 'Ah Meng Dies' and a big picture of her on the front page of 'The Straits Times'.Its such a sad news I think for everyone else because Ah Meng was and I still think will forever be a great friend in our heart.

Almost all the local main newspaper has an article on her death today and I think that clearly shows how we really like her.The reason for her death was of old age,she was 50. but some say she was 48,it wouldnt make much difference anyway.Ive done some research on Orang Utan's life expectancy and according to a website that has a lot of information about Orang Utan, their life expectancy is about 45 years old or more. And it was no surprise to some, their her death was inevitable and former zoo keeper who took care of Ah Meng between 1981 and 2005said that,it was expected because she was very old.Ah Meng leaves behind children of her own,she has two sons and two daughters, actually 3 daughters but one of them died in 2004,as well as six grandchilren.

Ah Meng of course was an icon of Singapore's zoo and she have met a lot of celebrity before which includes the likes of Michael Jackson,David Copperfield, and Prince Philip among others.I am sure all the celebrity that have met her before had fallen in love with her too.Ah Meng is also an 'highly intelligent and could learn anything just be observing it' according to Mr Nair, the former zoo keeper who took care of her for most of the time. And I think if you have seen her on the news or met her before, you would agree with Mr Nair.Ah Meng will be buried near the keepers rest area, something that has been done with two small animals before because of her relationship with the zookeepers,as special arrangements are sometimes made for zookeepers who have grown attached to animals that has recently died.As a tribute, the zoo also plans to name its next newborn orang utan Ah Meng Junior, which I think fits perfectly well.If you are a really big fan of Ah Meng and wish to see him for one last time, there will be a special memorial service held at the zoo for Ah Meng tomorrow from 9am to 11am.

I think Ah Meng is more than just an animal,I think she is a friend to each and everyone of us,and I think she can be consider as an icon for Singapore as well.I believe she will be greatly miss not just by the people who have work with her before, but as well as those who have met her,and even if you havnt met her before,Im sure you have heard her name before.Lets hope that a new 'Ah Meng' will be discover in the future, but whatever it is,Ah Meng can never be replace in our heart. If you have any great experience with Ah Meng that you might want to share, please feel welcome to do so.But for now,RIP Ah Meng.

Deadly report on Tobacco....

Tobacco use could kill more than one billion people around the world this century unless governments and civil society act to reverse the epidemic, according to a World Health Organization (WHO) report released Thursday. That is the deadly news that has just been reported today and I think if you are a regular user of tobacco, then i think you should be very afraid of the news.

According to WHO again, one hundred million deaths were caused by tobacco in the 20th century, yes one hundred million. The report also noted that tobacco use is growing fastest in low-income countries, owing to steady population growth coupled with targeting by the tobacco industry, with the end result that millions of people become fatally addicted each year.It said that nearly two thirds of the world's smokers live in 10 countries with China and India among the highest along with countries such as America and Indonesia.Singapore however is not on that list.It made clear that tobacco use currently costs the world hundreds of billions of dollars each year.Tobacco too is costing many countries a lot of money. In the United States alone, the economic losses are estimated at 92 billion dollars a year. The tobacco industry meanwhile spends tens of billions of dollars on marketing and targets the developing word with the same marketing and lobbying tactics perfected and now banned in rich countries, the report said.

WHO is considering a six-pronged approach to combat the problem such as monitoring tobacco use and prevention policies, protecting people from tobacco smoke, and offering help to quit tobacco use,but the most important strategy they think that could solve the problem is by raising the tax on tobacco.WHO said that a 70 percent increase in the price of tobacco could prevent up to a quarter of all smoking-related deaths worldwide.I dont know what the price of a box of cigarretes is here in Singapore because I never bought one before and I will never ever do that but Im sure its pretty expensive and considering a 70 percent increase in the price of it will be even much expensive I believe. But whatever it is,I think its important for people to realise the dangers of smoking,in fact I think the smokers themselves know it but I have never understand why they still want to smoke.

Of course our government has done a lot to solve the problem of smoking such as advertising the dangers of smoking on television or in public places, putting up grossly photos on the cover box of cigarretes, setting up a hotline for people to quit smoking but again the habit fails to die easily.I dont know what is so great about smoking, some people say it is cool, some people say it relieves you of your stress,I dont really know because I never smoke before and will never do it.I cant barely stand the smell that is coming out from the tip of the cigarrete, what else put a stick in my mouth.I think its time that the government not just in Singapore but in other countries as well put in a stronger action to solve the problem as soon as possible.I dont think it can ever be solve totally but at least minimise the problem. The dangers are for real, people are dying or if not, getting their health affected. The statistics dont lie.Whether its one hundred, million or billion,it doesnt matter. The most important thing is that we realise the full extent of the problem and think what is best for us.

I have no offence against any smokers out there, they can smoke all they want, but just dont do it near me because like ive said earlier,i cant stand the smell of the smoke.Just think about the news from WHO.If you are a smoker, smoke safely,if you are trying to quit, good for you,if you have not smoke before,I think its better if you keep it that way.Whatever it is,whether you smoke or not, just make sure you lead a healthy lifestyle and be happy always yes? Take care guys.

Romney quits race for the WhiteHouse...

Dejected looking Romney after quitting the race...

What a disappointing news for me in particular. It was the first news I heard today and it was a disappointing one.Republican candidate for the WhiteHouse Mitt Romney has decided that it was time for him to leave the race to become the next president which is sad, because he was another guy I was rooting to win besides Obama, though Im supporting Obama more.

As Ive said in my previous post,Mitt Romney was considering whether he should stay in the race after his disappointing Super Tuesday performance, which of course he did.But he had a change of mind yesterday and he thought that there is no point for him to continue his bid.I think he was the only guy that spends the most in his campaign out of all the other Republican candidates, but as Obama have said before,it doesnt seem that his investment is reaping dividends and how right he is.Speaking of his decisiont to quit,Romney said that it wasnt 'an easy decision' and that he 'hate to lose'.He was talking on Thursday afternoon at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington. With Romney out,Sen. John McCain is locked in as the front-runner in the GOP race.Romney had won 286 delegates through the Super Tuesday contests, compared with McCain's 697.

So who is left on the Republican side of the race.It is down to McCain,Huckabee and Ron Paul.Well if Im being honest, lets just consider only McCain and Huckabee.Huckabee had a stronger showing on Super Tuesday than Romney and it wouldnt surprise me if he will get more votes now that Romney is out.Romney and McCain had been against each other during the race, and now that he is out,I think the Romney supporters will support Huckabee because he is viewed as being more conservative like Romney, than McCain does.Romney has not said anything about endorsing anyone, and I dont think he will,if he does, then I would think he would be endorsing Huckabee. But nevertheless,I still think McCain is too far ahead and he will win the Republican side of the race for sure.

I dont want to see McCain winning, but I think he will.Romney dropping out might and might not be a good thing. It might because Huckabee could be receiving more support. It might not because the Romney supporters might go for McCain I dont know but hopefully it is the former.I like Romney and I hope he will enter the race again the next time.Turning to the Democratic side, there is nothing new to report on.As for now,the race shall continue and I hope that Obama and Huckabee could do some magic.Till next time people!

Super Tuesday Aftermath..The winners and losers

McCain was the big winner for the Republican on Super Tuesday while Hillary have a slight edge over Obama...
Alright people,Super Tuesday has just ended, and what a day it was.I woke up early in the morning at 7am and the first thing I saw on the news was Mike Huckabee winning the West Virginia, and then as the hours goes by,more result started coming out.
I am not going to tell you who is the winner in every state,Im going to tell you who won the important state such as California and New York.On the democratic side,Hillary Clinton managed to get the win in most of the important state such as California,New York, and New Jersey though I was hoping for Obama win.But Obama didnt do that worst actually. He won more states than Hillary but unfortunately, the states that he won was not as significant such as in California or New York. But rest assure,it is not the end of the road yet. There are still other states to cast their poll yet and I think Obama is the favourite to win in most of the states.Lets hope thats the case.As I and many people have predicted before Super Tuesday, there are no frontrunners for the Democrat party yet with Hillary having a slight, just slight edge over Obama in the number of delegates.
As for the Republicans, nothing surprising actually with John McCain almost sweeping all the states they they are contesting in including California and New York.Mitt Romney didnt do to well however as he wanted too, probably because Mike Huckabee made some grounds. He won several states such as Georgia and West Virginia as I said earlier.Considering Mitt Romney spends more money that Huckabee does in his campaign,I think Huckabee did extremely well and he has said that he will continue on fighting, and so is Romney, who had a meeting with his advisors over whether he should continue campaining or not,and he decided he will not give up too.As much as I want to see Romney being the Republican representative,I think McCain is far ahead of Romney and I dont think that Romney will be able to beat McCain in the other states which is sad really because I dont want to see McCain becoming the president.
The only candidate from both party that did not win any state on Super Tuesday,is our old friend Ron Paul. Now,I know he has a huge support and fan base on the internet, just go to Youtube and you can find them anywhere.Ive talk to several of them and they are really passionate about Ron Paul and most of them are young people. However unfortunately for Ron Paul, polls are not won based on the popularity level on the internet. He has said that he will not give up as long as his campaign team is willing to continue doing their bit for him.I admire his attitude but unfortunately,I think his bid for president is not realistic anymore.
The next leg of the race will be held in 2 days time including Washington.I will not focus on the Republican side anymore because I think its obvious to see who is going to win the race for them.Im more interested to see the Democrat side of the race which I hope Obama will be able to bounce back and knock Hillary off her lead.I am supporting him to be the next president and I believe that he has the change that we can believe in.Till then, take care and good night.

Gerrard named as Captain against Switzerland...

Ok,Im going to stay off fromt he politics for a while and focus on football for a moment.First Capello dropped Beckham from the England squad and now he select Gerrard as his captain, well only for the Switzerland match which is tomorrow. He has not made a permanent skipper yet however.
Speaking about the decision to name Gerrard captain,Capello said that Gerrard is 'an important player' and adds that he will not name a permanent captain before the Andorra match which is schedule to take place on 6 September,so that is still a long way to go but I think it will give him time to think about who is best to be the captain for the team. The decision to pick Gerrard as the captain for his first match doesnt surprise me.I mean Gerrard is a great player and he is the skipper for Liverpool as we all know,so I think Capello has made the right choice, but I was expecting my man Michael Owen to be the captain to be honest.

I think from now till the Andorra match,Capello will rotate his captain to give him a good opportunity to see who should he pick as the permanent skipper, and I hope Owen will get his chance as well.I mean he is now the captain for my team,Newcastle,it would be great if he could be the captain for England as well.I am not actually a fan of England for your opinion. The only reason I am supporting England right now is because Owen is now playing for my team.Other than that, theres no other reason.I am actually a fan of Italy, was really happy when they won the World Cup in 2006 and qualify for Euro 2008,so I didnt feel too sorry for England when they didnt qualify for Euro 2008.

Capello has name his squad for the Switzerland team which includes Owen, and I hope he is in the starting eleven,if not one of the subtitute, and I would love to see him scoring a goal or two tomorrow.Im going to wake up at 3.30 in the morning tomorrow to watch the match and lets all hope for an England win with Owen scoring. On another note,Super Tuesday is not over yet,it is still happening,so Im going to wait till everything has ended before posting my views.Till then, take care folks.Oh before i forgot,if you want to know which candidate/s I am rooting for,you got to wait for my next post.

Super Tuesday looming...everything you need to know.

You may watch the coverage of Super Tuesday on CNN tomorrow
Ok guys, the big day,or as it is call,'Super Tuesday' is just one day away and Im sure you are just as excited as I am.But for those of you who have no idea what Super Tuesday means, dont worry I am going to tell you some of the things that you need to know now.

So,why is it call Super Tuesday,it is because its the day on which the largest simultaneous number of state U.S. presidential primary elections in the historyare scheduled to hold either caucuses or primary elections for one or both parties on this date of U.S. primaries will be held.Twenty four states, including American Samoa are scheduled to hold either caucuses or primary elections for one or both parties on this date. Some major states, includes California,New York and New Jersey and this could be the day that could be make-or-breaks contest for both Republicans and Democrats, actually if polls are to be believe, that situation would imply more on the former where John McCain is heading most of the polls followed by Romney and Huckabee.

But of course as we have learnt from New Hampshire, polls could not entirely be believe to have the same outcome of the votes.Even though McCain is leading the way in most of the states on the Republican side,it doesnt surprise me if Romney or even Huckabee pulls up a surprise or two, which I hope to see it happening. If not, then I think we will have a clear representative for the Republican after Super Tuesday. As for the Democrats,Hillary and Obama are neck and neck with each other with no clear frontrunners yet because both of them are neither far ahead or back from each other,so it wont be surprising if we wont get a clear favourite for the Democrats even after Super Tuesday because it wont be the end of the campaign anyway.

Its going to be definitely interesting,I cant wait for it! For the full coverage of Super Tuesday, you may watch it on ChannelNewsAsia from 9 am onwards tomorrow. If you have a cable box,you may want to watch it on BBC News,Fox News and of course my preferred channel CNN,the most reliable network for any news.Im not sure about the other channel, but CNN will begin its coverage at 7 am onwards,so do wake up early if you do not wish to miss anything. If you have anything to say about Super Tuesday,do share your views. If not,I shall see you again tomorrow when everything will be much clearer, well I hope it will.
